  1. iv never had the need to fit camshaft in the past so i rang a dozen motor repairers in town they all made it sound like black magic in fact half of them declined because they said they could not do it i have the practical skills to do the job but need to understand the theory so in conclusion have a go dont second guess yourself
  2. yes i used your method john with piston stop actually i did it 4 times because i couldnt believe how simple it was so just to clarify i measure the lift on no 6 and when its equal i m there i can always double check when i refit the head as per workshop manual once again thanks john

  6. hi alec i think the most economical way is to use the bottom end from blue motor with was my origional motor i want to leave the pi motor intact i presume i can just bolt everything together around the block if at the end of the day the injection gear proves unreliable then i can always hp with pi head cam thanks mark
  7. hi alec i should have laid it on its side i reckon its about 1/8 inch deep been rubbing against the block ill put engine on stand next week and inspect block mark
  8. hello again i think the pi motor i have is pretty tired what i do have is the motor that was rebuilt about 10 klm ago i have half a dozen heads and from what i understand 3119     308351 is pi head im sure iv got a pi cam so i should be able to mix and match that lot togethrt the good thing is the s motor already has the air con pulley on it post pics later thanks mark
