  1. I did look at that too....I think by the time I've driven about wasted time and being disappointed it will be just as much effort restoring the original tub
  2. As always a full detailed advert. I looked at one for a workshop jack, thinking it would list the usual spec of it, oh no...just "Jack..New in box" well with that info I bought 5!!
  3. I think that's as bad, and his user name is interesting....
  4. I know some might not agree but I was toying with buying another complete car to sacrifice, seems tubs are few and far between......
  5. From before, you can see them in 2014 pic, I'll post some more from inside the tub taken today.... It's almost past saving I think.....I'm pretty down beat now....
  6. Well it gets worse....I paid for new rear wings on both sides but after being blasted today it's very obvious that I've been well and truly duped...One side has been done flat and filled with filler, nearly 1" thick.....The other side well, it's just filler.... Taken in early 2014 : Taken today late 2016: Doesn't take a genius to see that jack squat has been replaced.... Can't wait to see what the bonnet looks like.....I think we know what will be found...
  7. Cheers for this, good info as always.
  8. Thanks Bill, unfortunately the cowboy has removed the original metal and fabricated a new one and then filled it with filler!!! It's a job in its self removing it, gone to be blasted now to see the full picture.
  9. I've seen a few on ebay of late but just wondered are they still available? Seems a better option for me than just the arch repair patch. Or does anybody no of anybody willing to sell a pair??
  10. Thanks for the replys. So a inspection of number 1 is advised then before fitting...got it... Only a few minutes from Peter Burgess garages so if all else fails ill get it booked in for a rolling road and tune.
  11. That's interesting..... Just noticed something, The air valve body on one of my carbs is showing the metering needle through the inlet. Is this correct, my others 4 x150 cds & 2 X 175 cd units are not visable, could I have an issue or is it an easy fix or is this correct?
  12. Evening all, picked up these carburettors to replace my very tired 150 cds's on my mk2 vitesse(as noted I was looking to get them reconditioned in an earlier post). I've bought them as 150cd items, but straight away I've noticed a few differences. As ever onto Google to find out what they really are (just say "CD" no numbers)but I've  ended up more confused. Any ideas..150 cdsve from tr250 or tr6 seems to pop up, but I thought 175 cds came on the tr6?? (Got some of them, but need refurbing) If they turn out to be gt6 carbs and they an improvement on the 150 cds originals? ? Any help, info or pointing and laughing welcomed.
  13. Cost is a factor BUT if a good reliable service is received its worth it. Many thanks I'll look him up
  14. Ok, looking for a company to clean/recon return my carbs off my mk2 vitesse  (standard units) Any good company's. ...I've had a Google search but first hand experience is better than a glossy website. Many thanks
  15. The collection to set me on the rite track.... Thanks for the info.

  17. Got my copy I purchased  off eBay today for £7 posted and it's in amazing condition. Just a quick one,do the brake lines run in the chassis and fuel line,I've not studied the book properly but can't see a clear enough picture (may be in written form the route but only had a quick flick through )
