Roger Just wondered is the Sprint Sump the same bolt hole pattern as a Stag?
I am sure it won't fit but I just wondered about the bolt holes.....

Not sure what the current draw is for heated seats but if there is any issues you could just turn them off?

Ben I think we discussed it at Malven and my guess was a US lamp... It was me that brought the replacement lamp for Pete so at least he has a pair of matching pair of lights.

Thanks for you inputs. I have a J type that needs 3rd gear syncro replaceing and i have a rebuilt A type gearbox and overdrive. So I was just thinking when I have the gearbox out, is it worth swapping to an A type... I'll have think about it.
Many thanks

Gents interesting comments! Perhaps i ought to upgrade my Stag by going to a A type overdrive...?

I always thought that the latter J type gearbox and overdrive in the Stag was the strongest, but talking to "gearbox Pete" who rebuild it he says that the parts in in are bigger in an A type rather than a J type which was interesting. So does this mean that BL went to the J type overdrive to standise on an overdrive type to reduce cost or is there a way the J type is stronger that the A type?
If the A type is stronger is it worth changing my J type out and is it very involved?
Answers on a postcard please?

Thanks Rob that is appreciated. So on a My stag I have nylon fuel pipes, a modern electric fuel pump, alloy fuels tank and E10 approved rubber fuel pipe I should be ok ? Or have I missed anything?

Guys just a thought with the introduction of E10 petrol and the effect it has on non E10 compatible rubber would this have an effect on the rubber Stromberg diaphragms in the long term or am I worrying about nothing? I have some spares and yes I can use super unleaded but is there a fix on the horizon? Is there someone think about or in the process of developing E10 compliant diaphragms?

Clive and I guess they won't fit a ford engine either ?

Crickey I have a 1976 white stag and I would have guessed at half that price! TBH I know it was a Bonhams auction too but even so . If some one offered me £30k for my Stag I would be tempted but don't tell the wife!

Gents Just a throught if you put shorter driveshafts on would that help to reduce the negative camber?

Dash Veneer
in Body
Paul
I have looked at them on ebay but at a quarter of the price of a proper refurbish dash I m assuming they won't be as good, so I have resisted so far.. " you pays for what you get " but I would be pleased to be proved wrong....

Clive I have seen on TV where they can scan the paint and then match the mix to it but I assume this is the large places?

I agree with Clive view the M12 was a good move I have stripped standard nut/threads before but I never did it with M12....

Some interesting info on here. I think the challenge is that most LED bulbs are probably made in China now and the challenge is to tell the good from the bad and the fake... I think the Night Eyes has my vote so far. It would be good if they did them in warm white though....
Thanks for all the comments

I have my Stag booked in for the London to Brighton classic car run on the 6th June.
Is anyone else taking part and I am assuming it is still on...?

Dave and Batch just looked at https://www.classiccarleds.co.uk/ and the H4 pair of bulbs in warm white are £61.25for a pair so more in my price range...
Many thanks
Martin

Howard Yes I have seen Better car lighting but they are £140. I am sure they are very good but is there something that is any good for a bit less than that?
Martin

Now that the DVSA have said that you can use LED bulbs in headlights I am looking to see what is out there and the range seems to vary from £20 odd for a couple of Chinese LED bulbs (sorry I am thinking H4 headlights here) to almost a couple of hundred pounds....
What I am looking for is something in the middle that reduces the load on the wiring/charging, give better lighting. doesn't look any different from the outside (so ideally a slight yellow tinge rather than brilliant white that I think looks very odd and that re used the headlight bowels and for not too much money.
Am I expecting too much or is there something out there that people can recommend?
Its for a Stag but that isn't really relevant
Any advice would be gratefully received

just an observation I tried to edit my post and hit the three dots on the right but I only got a "share" option not the others. I may be doing something wrong?

Wim can I suggest if you already have them why don't you try them and see if they work?
If not just go back to the orignal until you can get the stronger ones?

It will be interesting to see how the backend holds out.... I suppose a lot of it will be how you drive it?
