I am very tempted by the cordless drill attachment type. Not then restricted to compressor range... Some on ebay, probably Chinese... Further investigation has revealed that the cheaper ones only handle steel rivets up to 4.0mm. Iv'e gone for a more expensive one that will handle up to 4.8 mm steel and stainless.

I have a quantity of pop rivets to install and am suffering from a rather weak wrist, (no jokes, please) which makes using a standard pop rivet gun painful. Does any one have experience of the air driven ones and would a £50 budget get me a reliable one? The lazy tong variety may be too awkward, space wise...

Back in the 1960s - Certain garages offerred a couple of shots of Redex gratis with every gallon...
I was still doing that for my customers when I was looking after a forecourt in Suffolk in the mid 70's.. Old fashion pumps and Redex dispenser.

Didn't the BBC feature this company on one of their programmes some time ago? Countryfile or similar?

Also about to say, beware reflections off polished ally.. My old Midge had polished ally bonnet panels, it caught me out a few times.

Chic Doig is good for repair sections.

Could the block have been skimmed and the number lost in the process ?

You might get some useable panels off this...

Thanks for that! Copper it is then. I'm sure I've got some lurking....

A quick question. The workshop manual lists a 'gasket' where the flexible hoses screw into the calipers and wheel cylinders. Is this a copper or fibre washer? There was so much crud when I dismantled the original that I have only found one copper washer. Was this correct?

I'll have to pop out to the garage and have a look at mine whilst the car is dismantled..

Go for it! When I started doing garage doors on my own 6 years ago, I wondered if I had made the right decision. The first year was slow, but then I started getting referrals and now I'm in a comfortable place and can pick and choose my work.
I wish I'd started sooner!
