I wouldn't change mine back, I like the extra response & the induction roar, but you do need cam, exhaust, manifold, rockers, etc to make the most of them,

Insulated the stainless fuel pipes with HT sleeving, that's the last thing to try & I'm out of ideas then, not long before LMC traffic jams so will find out then if I've cured it.

Your going to have fun hovering all the grit up & out of the nooks & crannys, been there done that...

I sleeved the thermostat as well, but had the same problems before & after.

Can you take a video when you do that

Had a bit of grief with this as well, usually on hot summer days in traffic.

I had the problem with Strombergs & a mechanical fuel pump as well as triples & an electric one.

To date, heat shields under the carbs, stood the coil off & heat shield, changed to Stainless fuel pipe in the engine bay, took the rear bonnet seal strip off & replaced with small sections to get some air out, also aux cooling fans in the valance to bring cool air in, electric fan on manual switch as could never get the hysteresis right on the capillary.

Last thing to fit before Le Mans is sleeving over the fuel pipes.

It's definitely vaporization as with all the fans on it behaves itself but i'd rather not drive around sounding like a Dyson.

Agree they are a PITA, mines held on with large diameter heat shrink.

Just buy stainless wire / rods and give it a go, thats what i did.

Had to cut & re-weld every bend on mine to get it to fit properly.

New spring i would guess, while your at it might as well do the tailgate to body seal.

Have the same in my Sprite, need to take it out for a drive to confirm the temp, it's been a while since the last drive out.

Probably, but I mounted them at the front of the engine valance, so there they are best pushing.
Still got to sleeve the fuel pipes before the run to Le Mans Classic, the traffic jams there are a good test if I have cured the problem.

Getting the hot air out from the engine bay helps, have you the long bulkhead to bonnet seal fitted? If so try smaller sections.
On my car I also have aux fans in the valances bringing colder air in, 75mm IP56 rated.

I wouldn't bother with a stainless exhaust.

The seals go on last, you need to make a hook puller thing out of sheet metal, i'm sure the manual shows a picture of one.

Been cleaning parts like that for years, it works a treat.

Which reminds me to fit the heat resistant sleeving i have to the pipes before the summer.

I am, but it's not over heating that is my problem more like vapour lock in traffic on hot days.

Oh & i also stood the coil off & made a heat shield for that.

I was expecting it to stall or something.

I gave up with the adjustable thermostat could never get it right & forever adjusting it, so fitted a manual switch & a timer.
