is there anyone who refurbishes 1500 inlet manifolds mine has got rusted out t piece ,there use to be someone on ebay but cant seem to find them now.

has any got a late 1500 gearbox that they can measure the gearbox input shaft at the smooth bit that sits in the bellhousing rubber seal thanks -
can anybody help with the size are partnumber for a speedi sleeve for the first motion shaft trying to cure a leak on gearbox had the number but missplacedit

I have a slight leak and it looks like its the rear crank oil seal ,the gearbox has to come out soon so i am looking at fitting a new seal but at the same time i was thinking of fitting a speedie sleeve just to make sure i dont have to do it again, can anyone help with the size of speedie sleeve i need.

can any one help with which side is the flow and which is the retun on a sandwich plate (non thermostat) on a 1500 engine, it is mounted with the outlets pointing down

what is the best oil for a spitfire 1500 gearbox with overdrive oil reading a few articles all seem to have different ideas re GL-4 or GL-5.

Just finnished stripping gearbox down and cleaning case and noticed that ser no has been stamped over the FR is still there but a ATT2272 040692 has been stamped I was wondering if this is a remanufacturers number and date stamp any ideas who marked there boxes with the ATT stamp, all insides ok except it looks like someone tried to put it in reverse at 30mph.

Finaly got it undon with a bit of heat and a bigger hammer. -
Got gearbox stripped down and need a new layger cluster ,reverse idler and syncro hub for 1st & 2nd, been offered a 1300 3 rail box, am I right in thinking I can use all three of the bits out of this box part numbers seem to match.

No rivets on a overdrive clutch assy

Are there any pictures or measurements of how thick the material shoud be on the clutch assy inside and out.

I am renewing the seals in a j type ovrtdrive and i cant get the cover off the pump made a tool and the other 2 came off ok but no way can i get the one off the punp any ideas would be helpfull .

slight side to side up and down play not sure how much is allowed its 0.5mm each way at the end of the shaft .

Just starting to rebuild my gearbox and i was wondering if anyone has any alernative part numbers for the bearing so i can source good ones locally from local bearing supplier.

trying to fix an oil leak now when i am putting it back together cant find out which way round the oil thrower disk goes looked on line and pictures show it either way round but which is correct concave foward or backward?

I used copper gas pipe from a caravan it looks slightly thicker walled than from a plumbers ,flexible seems to rot quick with modern fuels.

I have a small oil leak on my 1500 gearbox it seems to be coming out of the bolt on the side that secures the reverse idler shaft can i loosen it a few turns and put hylomar or somthing on the threads and retighten it.
