I had the bootlock frozen up several times. For a lomg time i had played up. So got it all apart, cleaned it (lots of dirt/crud etc came out). Now it seems to work a lot better. The lock springs are becoming tired after 10 years.

This week cold and a very little bit of snow. Even with -6 in the mornings she does it well.

Yesterday been fixing the Dolomite Sprint I used laat summer. New steering uj's (incl upgraded spit solid lower uj) and new gearbox mount. Gearbox does have a leak somewhere from above. But everything is from 1978, never been apart. Next is to look why the car leans an inch to the drivers side..

I have an old original, but doesnt work to. Will have a look if i can fix it.

Hi, does anyone know a decent switch to replace these ? I now had a few fail. Current one is failing again and is a year old. GAE191

Yesterday flushed the TR6 2 times and then back to regular coolant. On 2 testdrives the heater was starting to work better. And temp stayed a bit lower to. Hopefully the coolant will stay clean now. In company of Fox ofcourse.. Pretty much original paint under the bonnet, surviver look + ex. usa no. 25 build, made in October 1968. The engine etc was build by me in 2017. + this engine has his crank grinding into the block, pressure clutch and engine stopped turning ! Yes it was bad, but machine shop saved it.

Last few days been helping a friend with some jobs on his TR6. New radio, speaker panels, speakers fitted and.. some electrics done. Throttle pedal/carb linkage had play, so fixed that. As this is an no 25 TR6 build, it used the carbs, throttle linkage, emgine and half the electrics of a TR250 😅 But there was more to do.. Cooling system was like mud, no heater. But does not overheat. Flushed it good, then water with washing soda in it. After 10kms.. mmmm But heater starts to work better ! Today the car has done some more kms. Tomorrow another good flush and again washing soda in it and a drive.. then will see 🙃

They started in 1978. Had yearly events, raced Triumphs, let parts made up, lots of NOS parts, etc etc. They had 2 TRS Lemans racers, but sold in 2019 after the original owner died. Now it was his son that took over. But they had more rare Sabrina engines in there.. They did get the TR3 out, thats the car why they started to sell parts for Triumphs.

Maybe some have seen it.. On christmas night the Roadster Factory in the US caught fire.. It fully burned to the ground, only 3 Triumphs could be saved. This evening the alternator was sometimes giving 14.8 to 15.5 volts with everything on ! And a not so nice smell.. Did smell this when i came home from work earlier to. Found a 'good' one in my shed to keep me on the road. Now a steady 14.2 to 14.4 volts again 🙃 Lucas.. prince of darkness.

Gave it a good wash today. But it was to cold to do anything else..

Fox is still earning her keep.. Needed to go to 3 different campuses of our school to work. This morning it was very foggy..

Ive seen it a few times in youtube and facebook. So thats where i got the idea from.

Today fitted a new waterpump on Fox. Not so old (2021), but started to weep 2 weeks ago on my trip to the parts day. And fitted the 88°c thermostat to my car again for the winter. Typical.. it started to rain and got windy. After it.. nice weather.. 🙄 Testdrive.. belt squeeking like mad. Ok.. had this a bit before. Fitted a new belt + degreased all the pullys.. noise gone.

Then.. more playtime with the J -type. Al new O-rings in every bit of hydraulic stuff. Then put it all together, fitted it to my spare box. And made a 'testbench' 😅

This morning testdrive of the 6. I had put in the gearbox etc yesterday morning (what a heavy lump ! ). OD now works great. But there was some oil on the floor. That needs investigation. Put in my spare alternator in the 6 as his was bad now to.

Another 'thing'.. Back on 30 september 2013 I started to drive Fox at 117.037kms. Now she has (3)67.127 kms ! That means... 250.000kms in 10 years and 1 month !!!

Monday got the 6 gearbox home to clean the swarf out. Tuesday we took the gearbox with us, company in the netherlands fitted the rebuild overdrive on it. Now to install it all back into the car... tomorrow (Who says the 6 gearbox doesnt fit a Spitfire 😅 )

Wanted to test the overdrive.. It was stuck in direct drive. So stripped it.. and found more dirt. Soo.. now stripped it fully and ordered some bearing and seals. Going to clean it all up good.

Got the box more apart... ok.. This will be kept for spares Or when i have extra funds, will buy a new OD Mainshaft.
