  1. I had similar problem when I bought my Gt6 back in 2000. Bits of rust regularly caused the float valve in the carb to stick open and flood. First solution was the in-line filter - worked but filter clogged very quickly needing changing every six months(ish) to prevent fuel starvation. Eventually I bought a fuel tank repair and seal kit from frost (http://www.frost.co.uk/por15-small-car-tank-repair-kit.html). Not cheap but includes cleaner, rust converter and a sealer that coats the tank insides. Worked very well for me, its been in for many years now and still no bits in the filter and I now only change filter every 2 years. You have to do it with the tank out of the car, but well worth spending the effort. Seem to remember key point was to ensure the tank was fully dry of water before attempting to seal. Think I borrowed the wife's hair dryer, but then that cost me a new one! (HSE note, only use hairdryer if sure all fuel removed - eg by use of the cleaner plus water flushing - don't want fuel fumes to go bang)
  2. I knew I'd seen something similar recently, didn't realise it was on here though, and only yesterday.... So thanks good info.
  3. http://www.land-rover-parts-shop.com/en/ui/products.php?model=Discovery%202&engine=V8&cattext=Propshafts&subcattext=Rear%20Propshaft&group=Rear%20Propshaft%20Coupling%20Kit&year=1998 I found recently that landrover discoveries and range rover classics were fitted with rotoflex couplings. If this post has worked the above is the link and there is a photo. There appears to be 2 sizes 130 mm and 140mm - which without having measured my rotoflex couplings seems about the same. Does any one know if they will fit a GT6 instead of the triumph style rotoflex coupling ? As the landrover engine delivers more torque and power than the triumph 6, so longevity should be good. But then it looks like it's for the prop shaft on the landrover rather than the half shafts so might be designed for much less flex. But has anyone checked if it would fit? Thoughts?

    bumpers

Hello chazchas, I bought these for my GT6 mk3 or rather the wife did for my birthday 2.5 years ago  :X Having had bumpers re-chromed in the past, it didn't last long before starting to pit, I wanted something that would last. Well here's my experience of the stainless steel bumpers... Fit ... Fit wasn't brilliant - I had to adjust the mounting points a little to make them fit - although it was minor and once adjusted the fit is now fine. Look - they are very shiny and look very similar to chrome. Longevity - this is the real plus - still as good as new, after 2.5 years still come up shiny very easily. Cheers, Mike
