I would check the filters and make sure you have enough oil in the gearbox. It could be the oil pump in the o/d unit. The o/d operating in 2nd could be due to a sticking inhibitor switch on the gearbox.

They usually do allow 12 cars at a time at these Track days. On Action Days there can be 35 at a time.
