  1. do you have overdrive ? could be a non standard switch for that
  2. fitted new pump with 1/2 inch spacer and all is good
  3. thanks for the imfo I had already fitted new pump with the 1/4 inch spacer and pressure was too high with fuel coming out of top of float chamber.have fitted the old pump to get me mobile although it has a small leak from bottom of pump until new spacer arrives
  4. there was a spacer fitted but only 1/4 inch so have ordered the 1/2 inch one that should match the new pump, which I fitted to try out but fuel pressure was too high.the 1500 engine was fitted to a mk2 spitfire so possibly that pump was fitted
  5. I am in the process of renewing my fuel pump engine no. is FM 118013HE so thought it would have a pump with curved arm but when it was removed it is the early straight arm any one any ideas
  6. I agree with the previous comment, I recently had to free off a clutch on a morris 1000 and because of its location in a confined space tried the methods you have tried to no avail.eventually with the help of a couple of people pushed the car out so I could drive it to my workshop and it freed of before I got a couple of yards
  7. ah it looks as if this has been done thanks for the imfo
  8. I have a mk 3 spitfire with overdrive gearbox from a mk4 which has 10 splines, having a bit of clutch judder decided to remove box to check clutch.my car has a 6.5 inch pressure plate fitted so I must have  a mk3 flywheel fitted to a 1500 engine is this possible or has there been some kind of bodge done in the past
  9. hi i have a mk3 spitfire fitted with a 1500 engine and overdrive gearbox from a mk4,it still has the original mk3 diff what would be the benefits if any of fitting say a 3.63 or 3.89 diff thanks
  10. hello at present i have a mk 3 spitfire which is not on the road yet.it is fitted with a 1500 engine with mk4 overdrive gearbox and mk3 diff.the diff is leaking so i was going to remove it and overhaul.would it be benificial to get another  diff to recon say from a later spitfire as i  know they have different ratios. i am also think of converting to long driveshafts as i already have a swing spring thanks Iain
