  3. I have no regular co-driver and very reluctant to commit to spending 2 days with someone I don't know and that I might not get on with. Is it feasible to attempt this solo? Obviously one would be sensible about taking naps, food, drink etc. Managing an average 40mph in a Toledo 1300 would also be interesting. Any thoughts?
  4. Really really very very annoyed now. Have been having problems with health for years but now, to add to all the other medical marvels, I have been diagnosed with osteoporosis. This may explain why the broken bone in my wrist won't heal. I can only drive Daisy if I'm loaded to the eyeballs on painkillers so I'll have to miss the Autosolo. I will come along to help with marshalling though. Once I can put an advert together, Daisy will be for sale as I can't use her without power steering (I now, what a wimp!).
  5. Sorry. Forgot to enclose cheque. Where should I send it to? If I slip in an extra fiver, is there any chance that Daisy and I would get a much needed handicap?

Attached are the Rules and Regs and the Entry Form. Sorry. Not logged in for a while as my Alfa Romeo GTV has been taking up my time - like they do. I have sent my application to you, Tim. Shall I do another or can you pass this on to Matt?

  8. Looks as though 24F/26R is a good combination although with the 13" steering wheel, the steering is a bit heavy at low speeds. Thanks for the guidance, gentlemen.
  9. My Toledo is fitted with Dolomite wheels and 175/70R13 tyres. When I had her checked over recently - due to a combination of incompetence and physical disability, I do very little practical work myself - the garage pumped all 4 tyres up to 30psi. Now, when we take a slow tight turn we sound like a bad American cop show car chase. We bounce off minor imperfections like cats' eyes and generally feel twitchy and unstable. Clearly 30psi is too high but the only guidance I have is for the original 155R13 tyres. Any thoughts welcomed. BTW. What a great club this is. Joined only a few months ago; have received some very useful advice; been given a free pair of seats - even delivered very close to my home (thanks Clive); taken part in my first motorsport event since the 70s (Bovingdon Autosolo).
  10. I live on the Herts/Bucks border, just off the A41. Is there any marshalling or other help I can be in this area?

Checking out eBay for Toledo/Dolomite seats and got this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Armitage-shanks-Dolomite-Toilet-seat-Maple-effect-S4051PL-/200778777944?pt=UK_Homes_Gardens_Bathrooms_Toilet_Seats_PP&hash=item2ebf590558 Might be more comfortable than my current sagging drivers' seat but maybe not so practical?

Now that Daisy is in use 3-4 days a week including my commute to work, I am concious of the low back rest. Having experienced whiplash injuries during my career as a Driving Examiner, I am very reluctant to have that again. Is there a simple (and preferably cheap!) way of changing the seat or the backrest or of getting some form of accessory head restraint?
