  1. Have managed to put slightly more tension into spring by moving the clamp position on the spring, tailgate stays up now but still weak, reckon another clamp on spring would possibly do the trick :)

  3. 'Some very elegant solutions to a pwoblem'....  prof Heinz Wolff Any of you ever thought about presenting 'Tomorrows World' ;D Redrooster, with my driving thats probably going to happen anyway ??)
  4. At the moment Tim, i've got no choice! I was thinking dark oak , to match the black interior.

Also, apparently the stag has a very similar looking spring as part of its boot lid- toneau set up, two of them I think. I will have to take it off to compare. Will probably leave this till winter.

  7. All suggestions welcome :)
  8. Yeh, thats what I thought to be honest Not sure if you can even buy new spring, doubt it. Might have to make do or tie some balloons to it :)
  9. Has anyone had a problem with a weak tailgate spring? Mine won't keep the tailgate up, keeps dropping back to 1/4 open Are they adjustable? I can see a joining sleeve on the spring with grubscrews attatching it. I dont want to remove it yet until I have an idea about how to put it right but can't find anything about it on the web. Thanks if anyone can help
