  1. Right, I think I'm sorted! Just one more question: Which way do you move the column switch stalk to change from dipped to main? Mine is up for main beam, down for dipped. Is this right?
  2. Thanks DougBGT6, those are much clearer than the Haynes manual. Not quite the right year but they tie in with what Dogsbody has said, so thank you both! I know what I'm doing tonight - a little re-wiring me thinks!
  3. This is my first post to this forum, so firstly hello! Secondly I've had a look through the threads but cannot see one related to my issue, if there is I apologise. I bought a new wiring loom for my '71 Spitfire and got myself a bit confused with the lights circuit, mainly the high beam column switch wire colours. From my Haynes manual the wire colours seem to swap over after the bullet connectors i.e. blue/white connects to blue/red and blue/red connects to blue/white???? This doesn't seem right? Hopefully, if I've done it right, I've attached a photo of the manual. My question is, which do I follow, wire colours or the Haynes? Many thanks.
