  1. Since i have fitted my car with alloy wheels i have noticed that that on full lock in one direction the wheel will just catch the brake pipe drivers side, Before fitting the wheels i have changed all the front suspension bushes and steering joints but i have not had the steering checked since, Could the steering be slightly out causing more lock on one side of the car ? I have not driven the car due to wheel problem. Since i took the picture i have put 5mm spacers on and its better but not right, It seems strange to me that on the passenger side lock both ways are no where near touching but on the drivers it does ???
  2. I have original wheel nuts so still imperial nuts.
  3. Hi I have finally managed to get some alloy wheels for my Bond Equipe, I have bought some Dunlop D1 s, Does anyone know what wheel nuts should be used ? Thanks
  4. Thanks for your replies, i have checked out Herald16V car, its great !! The exhaust has arrived with me, i am trying to work out brackets for the rear silencers but i dont want to drill holes in my the cars fibre glass floor. I am going to order a fitting kit for clamps etc.
  5. Hi Can anyone help, i have just bought a Phoneix twin box  sports exhaust system which was fitted to a spitfire or herald, Has anyone got any fitting instructions or can explain how it sits etc i am not sure where it mounts up. I will add my car is a Bond equipe so i may have to modify some parts but that not a problem.
  6. Hi I know your pain in these repairs, I have had to do the same on my bond, One side is finished, Luckily i bought an old bulkhead which had replacement floor pans in it and it had the chic doig repair panels which i cut off and fitted to my car. When i cut the bottom of the bulkhead off i repaired the bottom of the a post.
  7. Thanks for your replies, One of my main concerns is tyre width that will work without fouling ?
  8. Hi I want to remove the standard wheels, i have seen some cheap old tr7 wheels i like , will they fit ok ? i am really concerned by width as i know the pcd is ok ? W hat width tyres can i use ?
  9. Hi Probably a simple question, I have a 1967 Bond Equipe with the 1300 mk3 spitfire engine and twin su carbs, I have bought a 4 branch exhaust manifold, can i just swap the exhaust manifolds on there own as i have just had the carbs completely setup and dont want to upset them !
  10. Hi Sorry for the delay i have been away ! I have bought 2 valve and seat kits, fitted one fine the second one i opened up and it had a different float assy in it which had a massive gap on it i have adjusted the cap but it made no difference. The choke seems to move correctly with dash pot off.
  11. Hi Thanks for your reply, The choke is working correctly, i dont know about the fuel leaking out of the carb i cant see it visually. Thanks
  12. Hi I have a 1967 Bond Equipe Gt 4s, Which i think has the spitfire mk3 engine and twin su carbs, HS2 i think. The car has been running very badly over fueling i think as it makes lots of black smoke ! On friday i had a guy out to tune it up, He stripped the carbs down checking every thing was ok then tuned the car and it was fine, but the next day i went to the car and it was back to rubbish running reaaly badly at low revs and black smoke. I was not a happy chap ! I have taken the blacks out and they are black and sooty. I have been trawling the net for ideas of the problem and one idea i have come up with is it could a float not working correctly, does this sound right ? if so is this easy to correct ? Thanks
  13. Hi Everyone i have recently bought a bond equipe , From one of the members on here actually ! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/151363372592?_trksid=p2060778.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT The car does need quite a lot of work, i am going through the car as it needs at mot in a months time !! First job is the indicators flashing too fast all bulbs work, i changed the flasher unit and it worked ok for a little bit ( about half an hour  :( ) . Second problem is the exhaust, There is one on the car which is gas tight but its very badly designed and runs across the highest part of the cars chassis but it catches the ground badly !! I know the car should have a spitfire engine so should it be a spitfire exhaust or a herald exhaust ?? Thanks
