  1. thanks for that-its so slight and i do so little miles with it there is life there yet in it might buy a spare item to refurb and keep ready-been trying to sell it but nothing but timewasters tbh cant afford to tie up/waste any more weekends for the "need to speak to the wife" folk or folk just wanting a ride out in one
  2. nice set just sold on ebay for a tad over £100 so not too expensive then..
  3. i got an advisory[2 years in a row] for slight rear wheel bearing play if no noise and roughness can these be adjusted once removed-or is it best to replace the bearing c/w spacer etc-i have never replaced/changed stag item before..
  4. i run  30 psi all round-seems fine,standard size
  5. never knew they were worth so much-mine is up for sale so think i will remove and replace with badges if its simple enough..
  6. after a look i bought a used one with no play will get it fitted sometime before next mot...
  7. i had nothing-no oil light at all when i got my stag-it was a broken wire, also fitted new sender-i only have the light at the side of the dash working[brake one] will need to investigate the one in the cluster some day..might even be the bulb i suppose
  8. dont really fancy used tbh-looks like its a new one-was an mot advisory,as well as front balljoint, bit front o/s and rear o/s wheelbearing play all easy enough with exception perhaps of rear wheelbearing
  9. thats what they seem to be...unless anybody has spotted cheaper its not the end of the world but if there was a ten quid rebuild kit it wuld be nice-that and a wee coat of paint would do the job nicely
  10. does anybody know if you can get a kit to rebuild the steering column uj? underbonnet parts-for mk2 with pas rhd any pointers would be appreciated,a whole uj is 75 quid or so...
  11. personally if you are getting so much grief with the charging circuit i would just re-do it all[charging circuit] but to troubleshoot what you have turn off ignition and check which fuse has current and go from there it wouldnt hurt to rewire puddle lights either-tbh unless mullered the wiring quality on the stags isnt all bad imho compared to a lot of old cars..

    Carb tuning

i removed both-they were stuck open a bit so i fabricated a wee part[aka nut and washer that the plastic bit holds in place keeping the bypass shut-it has removed the lean running feeling my stag had in midrange, havent checked mixture at idle yet but it runs well so will leave alone-carbs are balanced ok too i checked that after messing thanks for the tip
  13. did your new  starter work fine without wiring up the cold start wire?-did it come with two terminals.. i have got one of these due to arrive as a replacement for my old sticky starter and am unsure whether to wire in a relayed power to the coil...my car has electronic ignition as have most stags now
