Good to know that something is afoot.... 😊

For our own mental preparation though, it would be really helpful to know dates and roughly where the route might take us.  Not sure whether the info is already out there and I have missed it? Don't do faceache / meta or whatever it's called this week.....

    Thanks

    Nick

Hi Nick. Some further info will be in the mag which will drop this week. Dates however have been published on many platforms for some time... 6-10 Sept.

  2. Hi everyone

So, the countdown to the event starts, and more importantly when entry will open. Final actions and functionality are being added to the website over the coming days to ready it for entry to open - this will be very soon.

In the meantime, there are a few things you can do to ensure you don't slow up your entry attempt. Below are some simple hints and tips to sort out to get you ready.

    oooOOOooo

The first thing to ensure is the main event entrant is a Club Triumph member, and registered on the Club Triumph website. Without this, you will not be able to enter, and may miss out if spending time resolving when the event goes live.

When the event goes live, a link to purchase various 10CR items will become available. These items include and entry for the main entrant, and separate items for each crew member. You will need to complete all information in each of the items required (minimum of main entrant plus one crew member)… in addition to info about each crew member (incl. membership details if applicable), this will include the following mandatory fields: Next of Kin (name, address and contact number), T-shirt size and previous event experience. This info will be held securely and only used by Club Officers in case of an emergency.

Upon completion of each item, add to basket, return yourself to the 10CR event page and start the next crew member, again adding to basket at the end, until you have all crew members complete. At this point go to checkout and follow the payment instructions.

Please ensure the information is accurate as it is used by the organisers to place orders and bookings on your behalf, with errors and changes needing timely re-working.

    Thank you and good luck

  3. All passes requested as at this moment have now been produced and sent, so if you haven't received one through email, please check your spam folders etc, and if still missing and you have definitely requested one, please drop me a PM.

Can we not just print the invoice Ellis? It would save you a lot of work.

    Tony.

The invoice doesn't contain all of the info required, and means nothing to the marshals at Gaydon, hence.

The passes are all prepped, I'm just waiting for some final info from Gaydon to include on the email instructions. Hopefully they'll be out over the weekend if I get a reply today, or very early next week if not.

@Ellis I fear I’m about to ask a stupid question: If I’m not bringing a Triumph should I still enter the Model and Reg of the car I am arriving in? Or is the Model/Reg thing only for people using the classic parking? Ta.

    Hi Ben.

Yes still need the car description so it matches the pass for the guys on the gate.

  6. Hi all

I can see a fair few people are suggesting they are attending on Facebook, but not many passes have been requested.

Be great actually see people for real, and fill our stand to capacity with all your cars.

Get your pass request in soon. This will provide you and a passenger with a day pass, parking in the CT Area or public area - you will be directed to one of these two places upon arrival.

  7. Sorry all, I hadn't realised it wasn't on the forum... although that said, a message was sent to all RBRR entrants via email, so those involved should have seen the message from Tim B (and if not, they need to contact the organisers as their email address cannot be recorded correctly).

No decisions have been made at present, nor are they likely to be until August... but if the RBRR is deferred, it will move a year rather than to April as was being suggested at one point. This will in turn mean the 10CR being deferred as well... but as I said no decisions, so nothing further to report.

When we have some further facts we'll post an update...

    Apols for any confusion.

  8. I think they have in fact withdrawn that now Howard, you can own / possess one in Austria without an issue... it's as Dirk says, a minefield of what you are using it for - the simplest advice I can give to stay out of trouble is don't.

Portugal on the other hand... hung, drawn and quartered if you even mention the word by the looks of things!

  9. As Steve and Howard have pointed already... you will not see the link if you are not a member of the club. If you are, you need to speak to Tony Pulis (Membership Secretary) to get your online account associated with your membership details.

Thanks for your interest in the event.

  10. Good spot... yes that is a "taken from previous version"...

You will be signing a declaration to say your car is roadworthy and adequately insured etc. at the beginning of the event when signing on. This is all we request.

If your car is now MOT exempt, and you have chosen not to voluntarily get the car tested, it's up to you... I for one will be getting my car tested, as I want the peace of mind my car will be safe when throwing it round hairpin bends in the Alps.

How much do you value your life (and the others in the car) against saving a few quid? We ALL miss things on cars, so best to get it at least checked over by someone else.

  11. Just in case anyone hasn't picked up on the news, Dale and myself attended the above award ceremony representing the club and the run. Much to our amazement, we won, as their were some big clubs in the mix.

Thanks go out to all the members of the organising team over the years, support from the committees and to everyone that has taken part.

We also said a quick cheers to Martin Randle as well... the man who once said - "What if..."

  12. Quoted from Nick Jones
Any clues on the "on event" mileage?  Just trying to work out whether it would exceed the 530-odd to/from start/finish mileage.  To be fair, the "to" mileage up through Wales will be a fine run in its own right.  The return from Southwold..... not so much!

    Nick

    Hi Nick

I think you're looking at just over 400 miles as per the suggested route - mainly A roads.

  13. Club Triumph proudly announces the first Coast to Coast Run for Drive it Day - 21-22 April 2018

The 2018 C2C will start around 5pm Saturday April 21st at Anglesey race circuit with a meal and the opportunity of some sighting laps around the circuit. The run itself then sees us head off across country via an absolute belter of a route taking in some of the best driving roads in Wales and England, arriving at the finish point, Southwold (Suffolk) around 8am the following morning for breakfast. This event will be non-competitive with no complicated navigation and the full route will be given to all entrants in advance of the start.

For anyone out there that is entering the RBRR for the first time, this is an excellent opportunity to give both your car and crew a shake down prior to the event!

For more details, regulations and to enter, please visit the new website, here https://www.clubtriumph.ltd/menu/18746/view
