  1. Club Triumph proudly announces the first Coast to Coast Run for Drive it Day - 21-22 April 2018

The 2018 C2C will start around 5pm Saturday April 21st at Anglesey race circuit with a meal and the opportunity of some sighting laps around the circuit. The run itself then sees us head off across country via an absolute belter of a route taking in some of the best driving roads in Wales and England, arriving at the finish point, Southwold (Suffolk) around 8am the following morning for breakfast. This event will be non-competitive with no complicated navigation and the full route will be given to all entrants in advance of the start.

For anyone out there that is entering the RBRR for the first time, this is an excellent opportunity to give both your car and crew a shake down prior to the event!

  2. A message from our friends at MGs on Track

    Castle Combe Monday June 26th

We unexpectedly have spaces available for our track day at Castle Combe on Monday 26th June. If you wish to book one of these places, head on over to the event page on our website HERE and click on "Book and Pay" at the bottom of the page. The cost is £155 (MGCC members) with instruction (£16), coaching (£42) and helmet hire (£11) all available to book at the same time.

Any questions to James Mumford our event manager via JamesM@mgs-on-track.co.uk.

  3. Gutted that we can't run the event this year. Jon has put a lot of work in and it is a disappointing when we then draw a blank on entries when the dates have been known for a while. I'm guessing the change of date for the Goodwood Festival of Speed didn't help, as that was made after we'd firmed up our diary. Be good to understand if there are any other events clashes we haven't noted, that we should be aware of.

There hasn't been an update to the entry list for quite a while. Have there not been any retirements yet?

    Richard

Believe it or not, Jon's withdrawal is the first we've had. I'll be posting an up to date list soon, but only really that one change at the moment.

  5. Hi all

I'm trying to bring the tables up to date but have only been sent requests from three people so far (Steve Radley, Charlie Deards and Mike Banks)... and I know a lot more of you have taken part in events.

If you have made any requests, please resubmit, as we don't have them.

Please can you send your points claims into the dedicated CT e-mail address comps_points@club.triumph.org.uk - remember to let us know what championship and local area they should be put against, and if outside Club Triumph, please supply a link to the results in order they can be verified.

    Cheers everyone

Blimey...... you had to move fast didn't you 😲.  I saw Ellis' post 10 minutes after it went up and the form was in the 'box within the hour.  Postman didn't collect until 4.30 though.  I blame the postman.  Essex postmen are clearly much faster, especially around Latchingdon 🙂

    Nick

Personal visit - that's dedication for you.

Ellis did tell me earlier in the year that I've won a copy from a guess the number of competition at the club dinner last year, can't even remember what I guessed I think it may have been time of something?  I was probably a little the worse for wear at the time but it didn't cloud either my judgement or maybe perhaps just a lucky guess!

But really looking forward to getting my copy when it's published anyway.

You have indeed Andy... but feel free to buy additional copies.

  8. As November mags should start dropping on people's door mats today / tomorrow, that means entry is now open...

Full details, entry forms and regulations (please read them before entering) are on the Comps website: [Sorry, link no longer available]

Space is limited, so don't hang about.

    Regards

    Ellis

    Oh, I remember it well

the ground was so hard you needed a Hiti to get the tent pegs in 🙂

Those were the days on days like those .... (think I am getting my song titles mixed up 🙂 )

Absolutely... I don't mind camping, but I do draw the line at camping on a gravel car park!

  10. Guys

Before we start getting into what is "allowed" on the road etc... EVERYONE has a responsibility to not drive if they feel they are THAT tired, and that they are not in control...

I've done the event as a two man crew, and three man crew. Yes it's easier as a three man crew, but to be honest, by the time you get to Sunday afternoon, you're over the worst of the tiredness from the night before, it's more about discipline within your team to ensure people are sleeping when they need to. If you can't control that, then maybe you should look for another event.

Tim and the team spend a lot of time and effort working with the MSA to ensure the event is within the regulations laid out for a long distance touring assembly, and that appropriate breaks are built in to satisfy that.

I suppose what I'm saying John is acknowledge your concerns, but I think appropriate steps are already taken for the entrants to be sensible about their safety. Everyone has a responsibility to themselves and other road users to get home in one piece.

    Cheers

    Competitions Secretary

  11. Dates now confirmed - Starting in Lille on Wednesday 6th Sept and finishing at Rolduc on Saturday 9th Sept - we've had to bring it forward a day due to Rolduc not being available on Sunday 10th Sept... Thanks to Theo for negotiating us in on the Saturday instead...

Entry will open with the November mag, limited to 60 cars, so don't hang about as it's filled within days the last 3 times... and remember, incomplete entries will not be accepted, so make sure your crews are confirmed... you have a month to sort it out!
