  1. I believe some of the answers might be found in here...   8)

It wasn't that the info was hidden, it's just the details weren't confirmed before going to press, hence... no need to get in a panic chaps. All details you should need are in the regs.

Hmm, anyone else southwestish going to the Plough who pick up car 45 pack.....?

Having arrived at H'row at 6am Monday 5th after 11 hour flight I doubt I'll be feeling like a 320mile round trip that evening.....  :-/

Might be worth a chat with Malcolm Warren...

  3. Hi all

An e-mail will be going out later in the week, but wanted to let you know as early as possible the finalised dates and venues for the drivers meetings.

Monday 5th August - The Plough, Crews Hill, Enfield - 7:30pm
Tuesday 6th August - Holiday Inn, St Nicholas Circle, Leicester - 7:30pm

Food and beverages will be available to purchase from the bars of both establishments. Please support these establishments who are allowing the club to use their facilities free of charge.

I'll be asking you to advise me which you'll be attending. PLEASE make sure at least one person from your team can attend a meeting as this will be where you pick up your driver packs etc. If for some reason you can't make a meeting, please arrange for someone to collect on your behalf, and grab it from them before the start (as I won't have room in my car to lug a load to the start - given I'll be taking those for our continental friends).

Time is ticking on, so make sure you're getting lots of miles on those cars.  ;)

    Cheers

  4. Hi all

I know it's a bit early, but yes I will be supplying Sat Nav files as before...  The usual conversion programs are still out there (ITN Converter / Tyre etc) for systems other than TomTom.

A word of warning if you are looking to purchase a new system... TomTom have stopped providing Itinerary Planning on their latest units (and you can't hack them). I don't know why, nor do the thousands that have been complaining about it for the last year or so, but they don't look to be budging. Anyway, my advice is if you are buying a new one, look around for an older refurb or on eBay for second hand... something like a Go 740 or 750 that comes with European maps or a Go 540 or 550 that you'll need to upgrade with European maps, but has a micro sd card slot to do this.

    Cheers all

  5. OK.... before this gets out of hand as to how I'm doing everything wrong, can we get one or two things straight.

The route isn't a secret as I've said many times, but I'm not about to publish something that isn't finalised. We are still working on some of the timings and want to get it to fit. Over the course of the next month or so this will happen and I'll advise suggested places for stops etc.

We're starting in France because it gives us more driving / rest time on the continent to fit things in.

Unfortunately, trying to make an event fit with what EVERYONE wants is pretty much impossible, but by listening to ALL the comments I get (rather than a loud few), I can make decisions that suit most.

If anyone has a problem, please contact me direct rather than stiring up a storm on here - I actually feel quite disappointed about some of the comments and who have posted them.

Finally a massive thankyou to my old man!! He is without a doubt a legend, i havent a clue about cars but he still manages to understand what i waffle on about. I'm sure he must spend more time working on my abuse than on his own, so thats big guy....

I'll second that one... given I got to drive one of my favourite cars on Sunday. Doing pretty well for doing that on autosolos this year !!  Thanks Michael, you're a star !!

i brought a referb tomtom710 from totalpda  £83 delivered.  It only comes with 2009 maps of europe but it's better than nothing!

Just watch the mount on the old 710s, the units have a tendancy to loosen with vibration... and we are talking Triumphs here... I speak from experience !!  ;)

  8. Hi all

Glad to see some of you are getting sorted... the waypoint co-ordinates are plotted as per TomTom, other maps may vary slightly (certainly Garmin have been known to be out before), so just as a reminder, beware and keep your eyes on the roadbook as well.  ;)

    Cheers

  9. Poor show Mr Raider.....  I think we may have to de-face your Audi with Triumph stickers tomorrow !!!  I thought you were waiting until the end of the month to take it off the road. You still have a few days !!!

Keith... We're leaving Potters Bar around 10am and using the A1. As I think we'll be the only two cars travelling up at this time / route, do you want to try and meet up ???  Drop me an e-mail if so..... ellis@triumphtr7.co.uk

  10. Mr Raider

Are you bringing the "7" so yours can let mine know it's daft for blowing up and what it missed out on....  ::) ::) ::)  whilst we're eating ???

More details on the pub if anyone is interested.... and a map link

Cheers all and see you tomorrow  ;D ;D
