  1. Visa pretty set like stone, a bit like medusa's hair. How stiff to these have to be before we admit defeat and replace them? 🤦
  2. The chat I bought the car from told me it was running perfectly when he'd just been to Cornwall and back 🤔 I clearly think his version of perfectly needs addressing
  3. Decided to take a look at the engine, it id not start well. Timing chain stretched like elastic, sump full of slime, and the block is ... well.. see for yourself. Words like boat anchor springs to mind. 🤨

  6. It came as a kit, you know the sort, "no instructions of glue" included type kit. It took the chap about 3 weeks to locate all the boxes of "stuff" that consisted of the "Kit"
  7. Sorry it's a little late, but for reference the repair is as follows First remove the steering column as the repair will be best carried out on the bench, follow the instructions in the Haynes WSM as it is fairly accurate. As some people may not have a manual:- Remove the fuse box cover 1x 10mm nut, 1x10mm bolt, disconnect the wiring multiplugs for the column remove the remains of the shroud 2xblue 6mm pz2 and some pz2 self tappers remove steering column floor gaiter black twisty clip and a plastic rivet undo 12mm pinch bolt to UJ and remove undo 2off 12mm bolts and 2x 12mm nuts painted yellow to drop steering column and remove from car. 5 minutes work in picture no 2 you will see the sheer bolts on the back of the column lock, so lock it in a vice or work bench and tap them off with a punch or whatever your preferred method is. stuff it all back together the way it came apart I hope this helps somone, anyone, I'm not fussy

  10. Hi, if the engine has just been rebuilt, there may be a chunk of swarf in the PRV causing it not to seat properly, Might be worth pulling off the pump and checking it out, you never know, the piston on my stag pump had a weak spring and lots of slurry, easy fix. Good luck
  11. Hi The general rule of thumb is if the carbs work absolutely do not mess with them. I speak from bitter experience there are no parts available for these carbs so leave them well alone. B
