Have to say I love this club!.... ok so there’s the odd idiot I guess but on the whole what a fantastic bunch, many I’m lucky enough to call friends.
-
So as we just finished 2018...... as is normal we look forward to 2020!
My hope is I have the herald built and get to use it.......

Sam, Clive, thanks.
Clive, I have just e-mailed Spitbitz in case they have any new gasket sets, I could be there first thing if they do. If not, I'll try Moss in Bristol (it's six and two threes as to whether Feltham or Bristol is closer, but traffic in west London first thing in the morning might be - erm - challenging!
Sam, thanks for forwarding. I'm not on facebook myself, so this could be a big help. I will try TDC (I am a member of that as well) too.
Thanks again both of you. Sheesh, nothing like a relaxed start to the weekend...
Moss at feltham is really simple to get to and only 10 mins from the M3......
if you hit the end of the m3 m25 junction at 8am you’ll be outside around opening time.

But what constitutes a bad oil leak.... we drive triumphs!
-
I may be wrong actually maybe mine an 063....
i‘ll try and look later.

I have a Yuasa 038 in my blue spitfire and a Yuasa 067 heavy duty in my white car......the price wasn’t much difference to be honest.
-
The long springs I believe to be standard length!
-
The red springs have replaced the black.
The black are tssc we’re sold as fast road lowered and uprated when I fittted them 15yrs ago.
The red are 330lb and sold as slightly lowered ......
-
ive spent this morning in the cold swapping front springs on my spitfire.....now it needs spacers as sits too low.
It was always low so I’m not really surprised.
-
If you look at the picture the backplate is straight the gap is between the bell housing and the backplate.
This is shaped into the bell housing, both my spitfires are exactly the same.....
Now as to why it’s shaped like that I don’t know..... -
I liked Weston Zoyland

IIRC there is room even for the larger pre-engaged version - when it's in place - it's getting it in and out that's the tricky bit. The inertia ones are easier but not sure which saloons they were fitted to - if any?

Mk1 2000 I seem to remember? -
Space is the issue I believe Mike when fitting the extractor manifold.....
-
-
Nick, he’s just bought a witor extractor so I believe space is compromised?

My Rbrr co driver is looking for a high torque starter for his 2000.
Can anyone point us in the direction of something suitable that can be made to fit please?
Seems daft spending more of his money than I need too 😀 -

Hello Alex yes have checked junk mail - get messages from this site but nothing for new one - also if I want to get into my membership section on this site is it same sign in as forum details because that doesnt work either
Sorry Andrew , I don’t know the answer to that.
I just found when I tried to access new site I had to reset my password( mine wasn’t long enough) and the email went in my junk file.
Good luck -
Have you checked your junk email?

I had very similar seats in my spitfire 1500 ( mine were corbeau).
I swapped back to 1500 seats when I rebuilt my car and to be honest I’m so pleased I did.
The buckets were comfy but very restrictive in use compared to genuine seats.
I fitted 1500black vinyl I wish I’d gone for leather now......maybe next time. -
Do I remember correctly that the escort mk1/2 steering knuckle can fit the triumphs?
-
The trunnions is the reliable bit..... the vertical link threaded section is the weak bit.
They have a tendency to snap. They must be inspected to make sure there is no sign of weakness. Fortunately they tend to break a low speeds due to extra strain of turning the steering.

I have organised a team for the 2018 run and am looking forward to my first RBRR provided our application gets accepted.
Regards
Bruce
You’ll get in no problem Bruce.....you don’t get out of it that easily! -
I thought I’d taken pictures of the N/S too but I’ve not .....

I like the idea of backings from notepads, thanks Nick!
Fitted the drivers door last night to recheck for fit before final paint, today I fit the passenger side.
Drivers side made me so pleased with all my efforts.....passenger side made me swear lots 😀
Almost sorted now but chipped a few areas of paint, need to ‘correct’ the screen frame as it’s touching slightly
Obviously no strikers etc fitted yet...... hopefully that will be ok.
