You will have noted this event in June: https://www.mgtriumph100.co.uk/

As MG still has several race series going and it's at Silverstone, there just had to be some racing involved.   Seemed a pity to let MGs have all the fun, so I asked, could I play too, please?   And bless him, Rob Cull of Equipe Classic Racing  which seem to be running it for MG, said yes!   (rob@equipeclassicracing.com)

He invites me to enter in their 70s series, Class R for 'road-going' cars "running to the spirt of the period"  with two races offered.

They have 60s and 50s series for earlier Triumphs: https://equipeclassicracing.com/  They seem to be quite open to Triumph entries, so would anyone like to join me?

  4. Hi

    Shed clearance:

2.5pi engine, block, head, crank/flywheel, pistons/rods, head, sump etc. dismantled and probably all needs some derusting/machine work.

2x TR6 distributors complete incl leads.

    TR6 fuel filter housing.

    TR6 original Girling brake reservoir.

TR6 stainless twin exhaust system, silencers are a bit beaten up but complete incl manifolds.

TR6 door cards/panels original and in good condition.

DH 1300 “fast road engine” - complete incl HS4 carbs, elec ign, and branch manifold. Fully balanced by Oselli & runs great.

    Any questions just ask

    Location Barnet North London

  5. Engine and gearbox bolted in, the overdrive even fitted…

Obviously I now have to connect up the exhaust, fit the new fuel system, oil cooler, prop shaft, radiator and wire it all in…

Before I do the rest of the 2000 things need to be done before the 10CR 🤣😂🤣C8F361F6-2EB2-4AC8-877E-9C172E39D23B.thumb.jpeg.0dc76f80d59b7a433d25fa43cc987694.jpeg0F58B844-EBC4-4F09-AC45-39D498E51F3F.thumb.jpeg.3c8ded6957162c2c8b3525c305c2eac3.jpeg

  6. For sale Triumph 1300 DH engine, rebuilt under 5000 miles ago.

Rebuild included the block & head being ultrasonically cleaned by Serdi. The top of the block was decked and the head skimmed and ported.

Bottom end was lightened & balanced, rotationally & reciprocally, by Oselli engineering. Piper fast road cam with lightened followers with matched valves springs and new valves. Accuspark electronic dizzy. Twin SU’s rebuilt with custom jets & set up on the dyno by At-Speed, good clutch that was balanced with the crank assy.

Comes with manifold (not in great condition) & Mocal oil cooler take off on the filter housing.

    I’ll post some pictures later

    Any questions, call Paul 07879437498

  7. My evenings this week will be painting out the inside of the car with Hammerite, then sorting some wiring bits; fit battery isolator, wire in fuel pumps and heated windscreen.

If all goes well, I’ll pull the engine, gearbox and prop shaft next weekend, ready for the o/d box and rebuilt 1147.

I’m guessing that will throw up some challenges, so I’ll take a view what else I do when that’s all up and running…

I am new to Triumph ownership having recently purchased a 1979  Spitfire 1500. I have not used it yet as I have a carburation problem in as much as the front SU HS4 carb seeps petrol into the jet which then runs out the air filter when the engine is not running. I have changed the float, needle valve and jet and set the float height. The  breather  pipes are clear and the carb is clean. Is there anybody on the forum who has experienced this problem or may have an answer please.

    electric or mechanical fuel pump?

  9. I’d be up for it - I used to have a place on the Route des Grande Alpes just south of Thonon les Bains, so if you want a hand with the northern part of the route (eg sections of the Morzine Mount Blanc Historique) I’d be happy to give some input…
