  1. The 1275cc Midget drive plate fits the Herald 1200 g/box splines.
  2. Ive had that problem with the new felts, wish i had used the old ones. My bearings came from Rimmers a bit expensive at £29 a side i thought. The outer tracks knocked out of the hubs easily with a hammer and a punch. A tip for knocking the new ones in is to grind the outside surface of a pair  of the old tracks until they are a loose fit in the hub then use the old track to knock the new track in, a lot better than trying to  use a punch on the narrow track edge, good luck,Dave.
  3. Im 5ft 8in and have MGF seats in  a 1200 , they have to be  as far back as they will go for me to be comfortable.
  4. . It always seems to be the way when I set out to do a quick 20 minute job on the car, it turns into a massive saga! 🤔 [/quote] You are not alone Stu, it happens to me all the time !
  5. My 1200 has a strap type and the  strap end is at the diff, the Haynes manual also states at the diff.
  6.   I have one in the boot and one in the engine bay just before the fuel pump.
  7. Many thanks gentlemen, especially JohnD for the illustration, Dave.
  8. Any tips please on getting tensioner onto the chain properly when refitting timing cover, the engine is in the car with only the radiator removed, and its a Herald 1200, thanks.
  9. Looking at the photos i would think flaring the arches is the only way to get clearance with that tyre/wheel combination.
  10. Wellers have the same  pinstriping but  to the outside of the rim .
  11. Just to let you know i now have one of the larger tanks fitted in the 1200 just needed to drill the spare wheel well  for the  extra bracket bolt.  It came complete with sender unit which works fine, and yes Bill it has  a stabiliser on the back of the speedo, cheers Dave.
  12. Hi Stu, i have 175/70/13's on 5j /13 replica Minilites on my 1200, no issues with the rear but the front just rubs lightly on full lock, the wheels you have are i think 5.5/13  so this and the wrong offset could be the problem.
  13. I have a Facet pump on my Ford based kit the only thing i find with them is they are noisy,  so after a while i moved it from under the bonnet to next to the fuel tank under the rear floor.
  14. Thanks Nick i will keep that in mind, my local Triumph  breakers have a couple in  and im just going now to have a look at them but if they are not any good i will ring around some radiator repairers and ask  if they can do it like yours, cheers for the suggestion, Dave.
  15. Thanks Andy and yes i know about the senders, although my car is a "67 it has the early type with screws so if i get a later tank ill have to make sure the sender comes with it, cheers Dave.
