  1. i ordered a diff for a 13/60 herald  the flanges dont match the driveshaft flanges  ive removed the flanges of my old diff and they have a larger splined shaft therfore i cannot swop them over,  looks like im taking the diff back out and returning it  i also pressed new bushes into it which was a task in itself   also time is tight as the house has sold and two and a half weeks away from a move booger
  2. ok had a closer look and its got 5/16 front and 3/8 holes in sides,  so if i remove the old quarter shafts will they fit ok  i should be able to get the bigger ones of the diff without removal i hope   trojan
  3. hi just bought a recon diff from grimmer bros after removing the old unit and refitting the new and filling the swear box to capacity i now find my half shaft flanges the holes do not line up with the ones on the diff  the centres on the shaft flange are two and one eighth inch and inch and threequarter,  compared to the diff which are two inch and two and one quarter inch  so no go, any advice on the easy way out with out removing the diff again thanks
  4. got one on the bench in the garage, took half hour to fit made a wee brass plate thin soft rubber to protect paint work fitted perfect seemed right tight closed the door and it fell off, gave it another couple of tries same stunning effect, that was on the 13/60 on the 1200 i fitted one 11yrs ago and its still there a great wee mirror never had any trouble with it, it has the brass plate and rubber fitted to it as well
  5. going to take the plunge and get a hood and try and fit it, ive been told to get an everflex one which supplier would you guys recomend, ive e-maild and tried to phone don hoods without success thanks

  8. my 13/60 has oil leak timeing cover oil seal,  after takeing it apart   it looks like the pulley has done the damage to the oil seal there is a bit on it which is rough to the touch and if i emery cloth it away i dont think a new oil seal would seal it,   and the timeing chain tensioner has two slots worn in it by the chain so i guess thats had it,  is there anywhere i can get a replacement crankshaft pulley for a reasonable price its a spitfire engine the po has put in it   FD endinginHE  cheers billy

    fuel pump

    hi, bought a new fuel pump for my 13/60 instuctions say to fit adaptor? i take it it means spacer but the old one didnt have one, it looks the same slightly different angle on the operating arm,   any thoughts or advice thanks billy.
  10. hoods,   don trimmers had a look at some on thier website fancy one with just rear window, what to go for vynil or mohair?  any advice ferny
  11. got a set of 5j minilights what size of tyre and pressure would you think would suit it best, have a set of 155x 80 in good condition but think they might be not wide enough,  sorry to wander off and hijack this thread

    are  propshafts interchangeable,  thats in does a 1200 solid prop go straight into a 13/60 without any mods cheers billy.

    warm weather, well thats something ive been waiting for it feels like the longest winter ever the daffys are just starting to come out,   its the may holiday weekend next week and were looking at temps of 7-8 maybe 10 even of course with frost at night,    ok rant over    thanks for your views yeah  a bit of heat will help,  had the car out for drive it day last weekend it ran terrific and it poured down for 6 hrs then it cleared up late afternoon but had great fun passing mg s and fords at side of road with their bonnets up   cheers

    hi   the hood bag ive had for years and fitted perfect has now decided to shrink somewhat,  i can just manage to fit all the poppers but its tight,  can you remove the padding that is inside which when removed might give the extra it is needing    has anyone tried this opened one up to see whats inside and if removed would make it easy on my gentle fingers  cheers
  17. small tube to go into sump via dipstickhole,   bicycle pump to fit tube onto,   and suck and squirt it out
