  3. Hi everyone. I have a problem with the ignition on my Stag. The keys have been misplaced and I do not know the key number so can't get a replacement. I can only find reconditioned ones on line for £100 but was hoping someone would have one lying around that they would be willing to sell to me. If you don't ask etc..... Thanks in advance. Paul
  4. Thanks for all the replies. I did think they would be hard to come by. Slimboyfat, pm sent about your stock 😊. Suppose i knew really that the mk3 wouldn't fit but some people do strange things. Paul
  5. Hi all. Im looking for a front bumper for a MK2 Spitfire, I think they are the same on the MK1 but can I use one from a MK3 with some modifications? And being a bit cheeky, does anyone have a spare? Thanks. Paul

  9. Hi all. Another stupid question :) The gearbox on my newly aquired 1500 (I've promised my wife I'll keep this one for at least 6 months :)) ) came with a noisy gearbox.  That's why I got it cheap.  I did think it may be low oil as the OD was also temperamental.  However,  when I went to top it up earlier,  through a hole cut in the tunnel cover,  a tip I picked up on the forum, about half a litre of oil drained out.  It was clean so was probably replaced recently.  My question is,  could to much oil cause a noisy box and temperamental OD. If not I may be looking for a replacement gearbox :) I'm a bit worried  and don't want to drive it until i get it sorted now.  Thanks.  Paul
  10. Thanks Bob,  I'll have a look.
  11. Hi all. Does anyone have any fuel pump spaces that they do not need. I have a new pump that had a slightly longer arm and does not allow the body to fit flush against the block.  I've seen some where the appear to be two spacers each about 10mm thick.  Any help really appreciated.  Regards.  Paul
  12. Three 'Wop's' and out it popped. Thanks for the help, hopefully I'll be stopping by the end of the day :)
  13. Thanks Junkuser. That's my first job tomorrow,  said it was a stupid question!!!!!! Didn't realise it should just fall out  :)
  14. Thanks for the reply.  The circlip and first easher came out easily but it's the rest I'm struggling to get out. The is a slightly concavr washer that I can't get behind.  It's doing my nut :)
  15. Hhi all, its been a while since I posted on here. Hope everyone is doing ok. This is a dumb question I know but how do you remove the old seals from the master cylinders? I've taken the push rod out but cant get at the seals or push rod seat. This is. My first time doing this and im sure its simple. Any help as always, greatfully recieved. Paul
  16. Hi. I Had The Same Issue With My MK 3. Only way I Could Resolve It Was To Take The Gearbox Out And Free The Clutch Plate from The Fly Wheel. Worked A Treat After That. Paul
  17. Thanks all, some great ideas, think i'll try vinigar first a's then drain cleaner if needed. I'll let you know how I gey on. Paul

  19. Hi all. Have just about finished my Mk3 before I sell it but am having problems with it running. I have removed the fuel tank earlier today and emptied it completely but it is full of gunk and I am not sure how to clean it out fully. I ran it for a while and took it round the block a few times. The fuel filter cleaned a load of crap out and a blow of compressed air cleared the pipe. But after that, it started to run lumpy and only two cylinders are working now, think the carbs are clogged ( tomorrows job is to strip them). Any help on cleaning the tank would be appreciated. Paul
  20. Hi. I am getting close to finishing my MK3 and need to put the door glas back in. It came without any internals but I do have a scabby pair of GT6 MK2 doors witht he internals and outer door handles. My question is, Will they swap from the GT6 to the MK3 door? My instinct says no due to the quater light but I am hoping there is a way. Thanks. Paul

  22. Alex, you were right, I have the same problem on my MK3. Where does the spacer go and what does it exactly need to be? I have assumed it is like a thick washer and it fits inside the slave between the push rod and the piston. Any help would be great. Cheers. Paul
