  1. Still dry after 6 passes front and 3 rear. 750 ml already spread. Litteraly absorbing under my eyes... I don't know how soft they were when new, but they are still too dry. One bit on front is saturated and the difference on sight and touch : great difference...
  2. Today afternoon was time to take care of the leather seats. I used 1st natural soap + warm water and soft towel and 2nd i used neatsfoot oil spread with paintbrush. Picture after soap phase. I think leather is not saturated enough and i'll have a look tomorrow. (I wish i have enough oil...)
  3. News Sunday i started the car to show to my brother in law with whom i make local historical navigation rallyes. I'm the nav, h'es the pilot. it was very cold sunday and 2 weeks the car stayed. First the battery was fully charged and that's fine. After a few tries, the car ran with the starter engaged. Still have a slight leak at the inlet fuel pump which is odd because should only "suck" gasoline. Or is it possible that thre's a mess here with the inappropriate valve relieve (i saw some are dedicated to Bosch systems), but how i can check? I have a spanish mate in south France who has the 6th injector insert missing, so they will all be fitted soon, as i ordered a fule hoses set at C.Witor recently (hope i'll have them in 2 weeks). So next step in check throttles balance (i bought the tool), make a dedicated hose between prefilter and inlet fuel pump) Then check brakes, replace hoses and fluid, and get ready for the C.T (french MOT) as a collection car.
  4. Hi John, thanks for your offer, but i just ordered monday a set at Chris Witor, as I had stuff to buy. Sometimes stars are not aligned 🙄. I wish the set i ordered won't leak too 😅
  5. Hi. I spotted this which i believe is a Mayflower on local sales near my parent's home. Only information is for sale rhd 1953 1400 km (or miles i presume). Looks nice and clean in 2 door sedan 2 tones color. What's this worth as a driver (enjoyable?) and on the market (prices and interest). Thanks for chatting.
  6. Just tried this today. Plugs and o seals from Audi. I'll let you know when i start
  7. Yes thanks. I just saw a link to them this morning before posting. But only one leaking. I hesitate to replace them all.
  8. I have 2 issues about the injectors. 1. number 4 hose has a little fuel leak. I read those are PFTE hoses, my question is it possible to tighten it to the metal elbow and how? heating, glue, collar, other? 2. may have air leak on some injector bungles. thre is a mix of screw and push types (don't ask me why) and some may not be airtight. Trying to improve that...
  9. Water and oil are done. Started the job on electric additional fan. Soon I'll check replace breake hoses. Do you know if the CW kit fits front and rear on my mk2 PI? https://www.chriswitor.com/proddetail.php?prod=BHKCWSSSW Then about the engine i have a little fuel leak on the 4th hose plastic injector side. Is it possible to stretch it a bit any how? Also i think i have air leaks in the injectors plugs erea (when warm, the engine stops).
  10. 2nd start after adjusting timimg. I'm very happy you guys helped me to achieve the ignition problem. I had to share this. Thank you.😊 20230211_162748.mp4
  11. Great news today and it's all thanks to you mates and this very nice forum ; 1st time in my life the car starts and i listen to her. Guys you helped me so well. Thanks. And back to the main thread.
  12. not that much : "May not post to France. " 😄
  13. "put an electronical ignition, it will make the job easier" they said... 🤣 Thanks guys. As soon as i get my HP fuel pump, coil wires and spark testers, i"ll try this as i don't know if my actual E.I is not burnt or else.
  14. Got an answer today : remove the ballast, check positive feeding from neiman to coil + [wires from E.I] red wire to positive coil and black to negative coil
  15. OK clear, I sent this diagram to the seller's shop where I bought the new E.I kit (they're pro electric car detailers and builders).
  16. Rob, is it possible that i might connect tis white/grey before ballast to red E.I? Seems like on fig 3 on the link you gave
  17. Well well. Just received the new module (AccuSpark Stealth kit6) Instructions (not including ballast)🙄
  18. All right, i've made larger researches and this is what i found that might be correct (because those Pretronix electrical diagram are way too simple...). the E.I is for 1.5 or 3.0 Ohms the Flame thrower Coil is #40001 1.5 Ohms, the installation instructions say : for normal use, keep the resistor in place, (for 3.0 ohms coil remove resistor) For record, old coil is Lucas 16C6 45232E (1.3 to 1.5 OHM) Now that' might be the correct diagram upon Pertronix diagram and what you mentioned + net info, correct me if i'm mistaken! Left is the model, and right is my car.
  19. Thanks for your reply and if you can scan the wiring it's cool! No rush since i won't be ready tomorrow. but Sorry I don't get what "VE" is (is it a contraction of other terms i don't know?)
  20. mixed issues is the worst to progress... Fueling : I' m about to purchase a fuel pressure gauge tool kit to check if the fuel pressure is correct upstream the metering unit (i think it's way too low pressure). Electric : Also purchasing a new correct 25D EI module here in France, not too expensive to see if there's a difference. Plus buying check coils/spark tools to see problems when trying to fire up the engine alone. When it will stop raining i'll check all this. + I only have the Haynes diagram for pi and I can't figure out what are those wires around the ballast : - White plain = switch key contact, right? - White/yellow or orange goes to the solenoid (according to Rob), - what is the white/grey?
  21. Ok guys here's the news : won't start Chris Witor sent me a Pertronix EI ref LU-166A BUT the car has a 25D6 distributor. LU-166A (ou 9LU-166A for Pertronix II ) meant to fit D22 I searched and found that the correct EI might be 9LU-162A (Pertronix II ) for LUCAS 23D6, 25D6 Could this explain why it does not start?
  22. Thanks, 1st i'll use some good 20w50 the time to see how the engine behaves... then i'll try Valvoline, yes we can find here.
