  1. Hi Lancepar, Yes I live in Worcester only a couple of miles out outside of the city center. I see your location states West Midlands - where abouts? Cheers Stephen
  2. Can't believe it - I gave the guy a call tonight to say I would have the engine off him and he has gone and sold it > > > > > > > Ah well - still sold on the 2.5 idea now though Stephen
  3. Cheers for all of the replies guys - much appreciated. I think I am going to go down the 2.5 route - I don't know why but it just sounds like fun! Thanks again Stephen
  4. I am restoring a Mk2 GT6 and have the original 2.0 Engine which needs a full rebuild. I have been offered a 2.5 engine (engine number starts with MM) which also needs a full rebuild. I have always hankered after putting the 2.5 litre engine in the GT6 but I am now not sure if it is really worth it. Can anybody let me know what the benefits / pitfalls are of upgrading to the bigger engine - basically any opinions would be gratefully received! Many Thanks Stephen

    GT6 Engine

Hi all, Just had a call from the engine machining company where I took my Mk1 engine. Basically it needs a complete rebuild with crank regrind, new pistons honing etc - something the restoration fund will not stretch to. Does anybody have or know of aa running GT6 engine they may be willing to sell in the West Midlands? Many Thanks Stephen
  6. Hi all, I am restoring a GT6 mkII and have just found out that the engine that came with the car has an HC Preffix and is therefore a Vitesse engine. I have another engine in the garage with the number KC81111HE but I have been told this is quite a high number for a UK Mk II engine. It has obviosly had some work done in the past as the number has been ground down slightly. Does anybody know how I can track down any information on the engine before I start to strip and rebuild it. Many Thanks Stephen
  7. Bruce, your car and work looks brilliant but I have to let you know it did cause an argument in our house last night! My wife saw me reading the thread again from the beginning and pointed out you had started only10 months ago(mine has been in pieces for 3 years) and also how tidy your garage and working area was!! (mine apparently is not!) So if you could please do me a favour and slow down and mess up your garage then that would be great!! Brilliant project and thanks for the motivation! Stephen
  8. Hi Tim, I wondered what had happenned to your other project. I noticed that your shell has a hole cut out for a sunroof. I still have an old section of roof if you need it- this was about the only solid part on the old shell! Stephen
  9. Cheers for the replies Guys - I will be back in the garage later this week so will have a look at cutting the top of the Chassis. Tim- have been really busy with work so not been in the Garage much or even on here to be honest - Do you guys still meet at the pub on the A449? would be good to meet up. GT6M- Understood it perfectly! I am from Bolton originally so it is a bit further North than Worcester. Thanks again Stephen
  10. Thanks Nick, I have snapped the bolt basically! The body is not in situ though as I am doing a full nut and bolt resto - although the diff bolts were the two I planned on leaving in place!! Thanks
  11. Hi all, Can you help, When I removed the Fiff from my GT6 I damged one of the studs that holds the Diff to the Chassis. These are the studs where the top part of the stud is covered at the top of the Chassis so I cannot get a spanner on there. Do you have any ideas as to how i can get this out so I can try and get a replacement. Many Thanks Stephen
