Vitesse/Herald remote brake servo install position
Mollysdad replied to Nick Jones's topic in Running Gear
It's called Yukon Grey. I think 1" might have been a bit of an exaggeration now that I think about it, more like 1/2" - it was a small enough move to make it both possible and annoying that it just didn't fit!- 50 replies

Vitesse/Herald remote brake servo install position
Mollysdad replied to Nick Jones's topic in Running Gear
Here is a servo I fitted to a mk2 Vitesse. I had to rebuild the heater box to move it over by 1" but all fitted nicely after that!- 50 replies

I've had one for years and find it the best way to tune an engine. It can also show you early signs of problems that you can feel or hear (once you get used to it on your car).

When are you planning on being at Lands End? Might try and come down if possible.

I've used these people and were very good http://www.dandfltd.co.uk/ they charge £65 plus vat for a pair of UJ's and a balance

ok, I changed the oil just in case and took out for a spin. It seems fine in 3rd, holds in even under acceleration and cuts out at the flick of the switch (on stalk). In 4th however it seems to drop out on acceleration and cut in again when backing off so I assume there must be a wiring issue on the gearbox that is only apparent when in 4th. Will have to pull the cover and take a look.

Hi, yes oil level is fine but I haven't changed it and wondered if a refresh might help, suppose it can't 'not help'. Will have a drive today and see if I can tell if it's more slipping than dropping out but I thought it felt like it was dropping out like I'd switched it off and came back in again as I backed off but now I'm not sure!

Vitesse mk2 Hi, As the title says, the overdrive engages ok if not accelerating but seems to disengage when I put my foot down. Is this a knackered overdrive or are there tricks I can try to get it to work? Thanks

Thanks for that, what I thought really. I have the tool so will decompress the spring first. Cheers

Vitesse mk2 with UV conversion Hi, need to change the bushes on the diff and wondered if I needed to disconnect the spring ends before undoing the plate at the top of the diff or is the pressure off enough once the wheels are off the ground? Cheers, Simon

One of the gaskets is missing on the rear lights and they are NLA from the usual places. What have people done to replace them? Is there a sheet material that I can make one from? Thanks

Ok, got one of these fitted to the vitesse and want to remove it but how do I check that the original feed from the block hasn't been blocked? Anyone tell me what I should be looking for before I remove it? Thanks

Cheers. Thought it was but the new bracket I bought hasn't got a big enough twist so wondered if I had got the location wrong. Time to get the big pliers out to put more of a twist into it!

13/60 non-overdrive strap type propshaft. Could someone please confirm the strap end goes next to the gearbox? Can't for the life of me remember or find a picture from when I took it apart!

I am a bit confused as to which way round the seals go sorry. If I had a cross section through the hub would the seals be the same way round or opposite?
