  1. I saw the photo at the top of the red one and did a doubletake!
  2. I haven't swapped my ring gear around and it seems to engage ok. Admittedly it's only been on a week. The new starter is worlds better than the lucas original.
  3. I'd like one as well if anyone knows where you can get them?
  4. I bolted mine in. As for the timescale, yeah 5 hors is about right. it is an absolute pain in the arse to get everything to fit and line up.

    Chrome bezels

Ah brilliant, I was going to ask the same question! What diameter are the fuel and temperature gauges and the speedo and rev counter? I do't have mine to hand but would like to order the parts. I didn't know you could put chrome bezels on the air vents...
  6. Where did you get the wood door cappings? they look amazing!
  7. I reckon it could work if the car is de- bumpered. I reckon it would clash against chrome bumpers.  I don't like black bumpers, but have only seen them done in a matte finish
  8. I've had the same dilemma - I purchased new handles as mine were very pitted and the mechanisms were shot. I've polished up the fuel cap but may get a new one as the finish is good, but not concours... I couldnt find new front quarterlights so have cleaned them up the best I can, same with the rear openers. I'd like to get my bumpers re chromed, but if Stainless ones are £700 and Chroming is similar, it may be a difficult choice.
  9. Ah so that's why there's a random O an inch away from the rest of the chassis number? I assumed the guy who stamped the vin plates was drunk.... She's definately right hand drive. I find it interesting that a chassis number can be only 2 numbers and 2 letters... My worry is not the cost of changing but the worry that it would appear that I had changed the chassis number from KE2901 to KE29 rather than the actual situation where the DVLA has made a mistake and it needs correcting. I presume that there could be a KE2901 GT6 out there somewhere? Or would a car starting KE29XX be a later model year?
  10. I've just noticed that the chassis number written on my logbook is KE2901 whereas the chassis number on my GT6 is simply KE29. Does anyone have any advice as to what I do about this? As far as I can tell, if I inform the DVLA they will just assume that I've changed the chassis number....
  11. I'll fit em for you for some beer if you fancy coming to nottingham...
  12. Thankyou! I made a spacer out of a bit of steel tube and 27mm seemed to do the trick on an iron mount..
  13. AS per the title really. I'm trying to fit my alternator and it didn't have any spacers with it so I'm trying to line it up with the other pulleys. Also the wiring loom seems far too short to reach either the back of the alternator or the temp sender. I'm assuming it is routed incorrectly. Would one of you fantastic people mind posting up some pics of your wiring too? Thanks in advance :)
