  1. Gradually putting the Dolomite back together.. He’s looking ‘fabulous darling ‘ swanky new mirrors and front light assemblies . (Apparently on the wrong way in the photos but that’s how they were on the Log) new rear badges and struggling to get the door seals back into the grooves . Starting on the button with its new Bosch battery .
  2. All happening chez Sharpie . The log has been painted ! It’s VW AA Yellow ( The Modern One ) . All the door shuts are painted and the inside of the boot is Matt black stone chip . The under bonnet is staying Russet as a nod to The Log being born brown ! . This car is for using and although I’ve bought a lovely leather interior from a Rover 45 I saw the car in paint with the chestnut and it looks fab! So I might just leave it be and save myself a small fortune on carpets . doors are now done as are the boot and bonnet and it’s going back together at the moment . It will be transported to my home for reassembly. The Vinyl roof man is coming on the 6th June . I’ll keep you all updated … might yet make the summer runs and RBRR No 6 !
  3. Hi Everyone, CT will have a Club Stand at the Standard Triumph Picnic at Walton Hall on Sunday 21st May . This is a free event for members and there will be food and drink stands available on the field. Vice President Chris Allen and I will be on hand to do Club Insurance valuations if anyone needs one . The fee is £10 for Members . All the Triumph and Standard Clubs will be present and it would be nice to to a great turnout . Hope to see you there .
  4. Well done Wendy 20 cars and 36 attendees . Where to next lol ?
  5. Olaf is RBRR ready now with new pads fitted , a recent tune from Mr Barker and new shoes in the rear . The flying Log is in the paint shop and is currently having sections bare metalled ready for filler and primer. All the doors are coming off one by one and will be painted all over . I’d like to use the Dolomite if possible in October as it practically knows the way round having already done five starting in 2008 . Olaf has done three . As for me I’m more knackered than both of the cars as I’ve done nine !

  7. This is a new ‘show’ for extinct Marques at the picturesque Burghley House in Stamford nr Peterborough . Just off the A.1 . visit festivalofthedead.uk if we have enough interest we can have a free club stand (minimum 4 cars needed) . The cost is only £13.50 per car with as many occupants as you can fit in (that’s not a challenge! ) . The first show organised by Sarah Crabtree’s Evoke Classics . contact Darren Sharp if you are looking to go along and I’ll coordinate with the organisers . Get your tickets direct .
  8. Cheap fix is to fit a bathroom cabinet lock . Let us know if it’s a convertible as the advice is different .
  9. https://www.facebook.com/groups/club.triumph/permalink/10160854725113729/ This event is on 2nd July 2023 . Burghley House is just off the A.1 north of Peterborough. If we can get 4 cars or more we can pitch a Gazebo to keep the sun off ! The house is Spectacular and so are the gardens and you can bring the car and as many occupants as you like for £13.50 which seems like great value compared to some other shows .
  10. That front wing graft Impressed the painter Sam .. thanks again mate
  11. The log is in the paint shop at the filler stage . Popped in today and took some pics .. OMG it looks better already and it’s not even in primer yet!

  14. Mabel and Scarlett are on the Club stand at the Practical Classics Restoration Show at the NEC. Come and see us . Wendy has been baking again ! We will be stripping out the Spitfire to re bush the gear lever and fitting new window rubbers . Mabel will be having an alternator conversion . Both cars will be checked over ready for summer events with CT .
  15. Phase 2 Begins . The log has made its own way North from Essex to Lincolnshire after what has turned out to be a weldathon! Attention has been paid to the cills , doors , floors, subframe mountings , headlamp support panels , wings front and rear and the front valence all done in new steel . Over the next few weeks it will be stripped, filled , primed and painted prior to reassembly , sound proofing and interior works . Hopefully it will be ready for some summer outings but there is a long way to go . I’m not looking forward to realigning the lights as both headlamp support panels and all their surrounding structure has been replaced . Currently the headlights are held in with self tappers !
  16. I see we have Red , White and Blue Kevin’s again ! Excellent… I hope Matt remembers his overalls !
  17. You have a Delaney heater box there , ( shouldn’t be on a 13/60) should be the later Smiths box . You need a Delaney valve . Available from TD Fitchett but pricey at about £90 as opposed to your smiths version at £20
