  1. Hi everyone, do you have a beautiful Triumph that you would like to Display on the CT stand at one of the great car shows we attend? Please post pics on here . We do have some criteria for certain shows which relate to the ‘Theme’ of the individual shows or the current policy for promoting various models Which include for instance Youth Group participation at the next MG / Triumph show at Telford and production anniversaries for various models . All cars selected belong to CT members . We do like to put new and different cars on the stands and we recognise all aspects of our hobby . Next year at the NEC will be featuring modified cars to honour a promise to several owners. Here is a selection of previous show cars .
  2. Hi Keith. At the moment cars are selected at random by recommendation from members or where they meet certain criteria for each show theme. Data protection issues prevent us keeping a register these days but I can’t see why we can’t post a thread with pictures posted by owners who would like to show they’re cars .
  3. Hi everyone, CT will have a stand at the PCCRS at the NEC next March . watch this space and the members only section for details of reduced priced tickets which represent a huge saving on gate prices . At the moment we are looking at re fitting a refurbished Webasto roof in a 12/50 Herald as well as changing the challenging rear window seals and complete sound proofing and interior fitting out on another project nearing completion . Room for another car on the stand if you have one you would like fettled . Please bear in mind that we have limited facilities but if you want to strip an engine down or build one up or similar please get in touch !
  4. Do you remember when you could re shoe your Classic for £15 a corner with these…… Thank god we’ve moved on a bit lol
  5. Thank you Tim , we are a bit tucked away in hall 5 but loads of positive comments about the cars and the stand and 14 new members so far . I’ve managed to get Richard Dredge over for a you You tube interview with Kevin for his Under the Radar series on unusual Classics , we’ve had visits from several Celebrities as well .

  7. Today CT was Awarded the 2021 Classic and Sports Car award for the Best contribution to charity at the NEC. A huge well done to the RBRR Team and all the participants Past and present. The Award was collected by Club President Malcom Warren and his wife Madalene and the ceremony was attended by Mike and Jane Charlton. Well done everyone.
  8. Hi everyone , The next saga in the life of The Flying Log is underway . Having fettled it through the summer months with the help of the Johnson’s (Andy , Sarah and Luke) at their unit in Louth and driving it as my daily much of the time it has now gone South to Essex and my old friend Nick Peskett who you may remember restored Olaf in 2018 . It didn’t go directly to Essex as it had a 2000 + mile detour via the Round Britain Reliability Run in the hands of Pete Barrett from Cherished Insurance, stepping in at the eleventh hour as his Big red PI Mk 2 Restoration became too big a task to complete in time for the event. The Log made it round it’s 5th RBRR and is now going for some much needed hot spannering! That will be followed by body prep and paint . It will be done in 2K and hopefully the paint and repairs will give it a new lease of life .. and another 5 RBRR’s ! New suspension awaits plus a cupboard full of shiny bits , No plates , vinyl covering for the roof , lots of trim rubber and lots more ! I’ve posted most of the pics before but here’s one of it on the Cherished Insurance stand at Beaulieu auto jumble drumming up support for the RBRR plus some of the engine and rebushing work that Pete did prior to the Round Britain. Meanwhile Foo Man Choo looks on Inscrutable!
  9. Post here for your NEC 2021 pics . Car is loaded and the polishing Cloths !

  11. I've lost track of events in the last few weeks after cramming in a years worth of Holidays, Car shows, Beaulieu Auto jumble and charity Collecting at Goodwood revival all in the last few weeks plus preparing a sick Olaf and working at the Bubble Car museum at its busiest time. However like the best plans its all coming together at the last minute! In the boot I will have a semi professional socket set plus a good trolley jack and a myriad of spanners and screwdrivers plus the following spares ( some are weird but those that have done this event will know how precious they are!) A set of 8 Rockers ( Tappets) that will fit all SC four and six cylinder engines ( You would be extremely careless if you break more than eight!) A brand new in the box alternator which is standard fit for most Triumphs. 5 3/4" Sealed beam inner and outer headlamps ( one of each) plus H4 bulbs and other bulbs . Hose Clips, Gaffer Tape and a variety of 2000 water hoses. Front wheel bearings for the 2000 range. A complete electronic 6 cylinder Distributor with cap and leads. Also a set of ignition leads in good working order... also got spare points and a condenser (Lucas) Yes .... A J type overdrive solenoid ! Timing light and static testers , a spare coil ( 12v not ballasted) . A colour tune . A spare 123 Distributor cap A full set of driving belts ( 2000 range Water pump and alternator and steering pump). big can of oil , Dot 4, and water.
  12. Jacked up the front and adjusted the front near side wheel bearing this afternoon. Checked all the fluids and did some polishing of the rocker cover dash pots and the radiator.
  13. Come and Join us and have a look around Historic Lincoln . Roman City walls enclose the Castle and Cathedral which is one of the finest in England . Meeting up in the Public Car Park in Union Road gives easy access to the Cities attractions and The Stokes Lawn Cafe which is in the car park and is the site of England’s very first Mental Asylum ( very appropriate lol) The food is excellent! (See website for menu) . A morning out for car nuts and their families .
  14. Lincoln Breakfast Meeting 9am Sunday 29th August , Public Car Park , Union Road , Lincoln ,LN13BU . I’ve had a lot of interest in my post for this . For information it’s a Public Car Park so charges apply but it’s well sited providing easy access to the Castle the Cathedral (although it is Sunday Morning) there are several pubs restaurants and Cafes as well as shops and souvenir shops . If you wish to visit any particular venue please check the relevant website for opening times . Looking forward to seeing you all. https://www.facebook.com/groups/club.triumph/permalink/10159664708683729/
  15. New Rocker Arms for the Log and a name change! whilst in the warehouse of TD Fitchett’s discovering a rocking horse poo mine of rare Triumph parts I purchased a nice new set of rocker arms for The Flying Log AKA Amy . I’m fed up with him/ her being transgender so I’m going for Male and a new Monica … Marmite . I once showed the car at a TSSC show and was told by the judges who poured over it that it was probably the most immaculate original Triumph at the show … buts it’s Brown Sir and therefore couldn’t be allowed to win! ( You can see why I never joined), Russet Brown divides opinion like no other original Triumph Colour (with the possible exception of Magenta) . Marmite has new vinyl wing decals some nice shiny new headlights and although the new tappets didn’t improve the noise much they certainly have improved the drive . Another new choke cable from Rimmers snapped the first time it was used but judicious straightening of the old inner with a new outer cable makes for a smooth operation in use . Marmite did bite my arm whilst balancing the carbs though !
  16. It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of CT Vice President , respected Triumph Journalist, Motoring Author and the former head of the BL competition department Graham Robson on Friday 6th August 2021 . I’m sure all our thoughts are with his family at this time . Farewell Graham .
