A number of us have used Scholar on the A140 north of Needham Market.

One thing to check with the wire wheels is that the correct "wire wheel nuts and studs" are fitted.
Having the splined adaptors held on with normal ones gives some really scary noises from the wheels.

It was said on radio that crude is at same level as it was a few years ago, but I don't remember £1.80 litres of diesel a few years ago.
Nor do I remember £1 litres of heating oil.
Think I need to follow the money chain and buy shares as long as it doesn't end at Rosneft or something similar.

Not like you Colin you must have too many Triumphs on you mind😉
No, my driver sent me a cryptic message when I had going to bed on my mind, so I ignored it.
So it is all his fault.

I blew that one, got a cryptic message I translated as Digital Private Mobile Radio, thought it was spurious so ignored it. 🤔

I can assure you, 50mph is not a sedate average!

Is not the problem that lots of the chemicals and processes needed to make decent rubber products are now banned, so we now have what seems to be good quality rubber products now are something else that just looks like rubber, andvcost a lot more, and we have products made without the banned chemicals that are rubbish.

Found any Castrol GTX can yet??

Yes, thick foam with original cover wrapped round it.

There are also a few cars we haven't seen for a while as well, and a few we will never see again.

It was much easier to tell the difference when the doors were different colours.

Why not set up your own carbon offset organisation
then they pay for your trees 😁
I wonder if it is tax deductible?

So if I pay for trees to be planted, can I go and chop them down in a few years time when I need some more firewood as the price of oil will have gone through the roof?
I have paid for them after all, so they must be mine. Though we would need to be told where they are.
Just a thought.
I might just plant some trees in my own garden instead.

I picked up a pile of old carpet tiles at work. Solved the issue of the sticky tyres pulling the paint off, though I think the surface in the front garage wasn't finished 100% correctly. 1 under each wheel.
The back garage had a much bette r surface, I did that with an epoxy undercoat and then a 2-part epoxy grey top coat.
Almost bomb-proof.

I see it as a couple of hoops to jump through, and it will undoubtedly change a few more times over the course of the year.
It isn't stopping anyone at the moment, hopefully it stays that way.

Shame it is not Miss New Brighton, British Pathe has film of the 67 and 68 contests.

I think it is a bit deceptive. Designed to catch out the unwary.
All the DVLA stuff relates to getting a V5, or recovering a lost one.
For instance it says you can not use any new or replica parts if you wish to put a Classic back on the road.
If you do it will get a Q plate and need type approval.
I don't remember any of that when I last put a classic back on the road that had been off the road for many years.
That was because I had a log book. So all that DVLA stuff is irrelevant.
I didn't need to have any number of points or anything like that.
-
You could write to the DVLA saying it is parked illegally on your land or it was involved in an incident with you, so you need to contact the owner, it might work.
-
But if the registration goes with an attached chassis, then for a Triumph Spitfire, that is OK, as that is the part of the car that relates to the identity.
And you have a chassis.
Cheers Colin

Hmmn, I wonder if the kids would be up for an adventure. A lot will depend on the costs for a family of four though!
You do know you have to take a Triumph not a Land Rover or a BMW.

On a serious note should it have bumpers on for the 10CR . And if so anyone got some ? Manky but complete would be fine .
Sure I still have it's bumpers about somewhere. Looks better without.

Excellent, I was having the same dilemma as you Clive!
No you weren't!!
Price was cheap though.
And it is a bloody good car.
Still have some bits of it floating about somewhere.

The car would not have had door (or wing) mirrors originally, though you may have been able to specify dealer fit ones.
The excellent visibility out of a Spitfire has meant I have never missed them on either of my Spitfires.
