So Cant see it written down anywhere, but if I remember rightly from the Drivers meet the rally plates are supposed to be Paul DErbyshire TR7 on the front of the car and Nuala Dowie Spitfire on the rear, is that correct? And the CT Sticker on the front door and Huntingtons sticker on the rear door/rear wing etc. I seem to remember on the GT6 it wasn't very good on the rear wing due to the crease in the panel and I usually put both on the doors. Mine are stuck to magnetic backings anyway so can be moved if necessary

Or to make a more resilient angle drive you can replace the short cable bit of the angle drive with a solid square bar (about 1/8 inch square), I did that on my GT6 about 30 years ago and it's been trouble free ever since. -
I purchased my GT6 from the Lenham Motor Company back in 1988. Their main business then was selling MGs and also doing a Lenham conversion to MG Roadsters to make them four seaters. At the time they were based in Harrietsham in Kent. I believe that the business as it was was wound down although the Lenham motor company name was taken over in 2008 and is now used by another company called CCK who also took over some of the Lenham moulds. As a bit of history I've enclosed the original Lenham motor company advert from Classic Cars magazine that listed my GT6 in 1988, a couple of photos from when I went to view it/test drive it and also a picture from 2017 when I dropped by to the old premises in Harrietsham in my GT6. Part of the building was then in use by another company Lenham Sportscars and another part was up for sale but had been recently used by The Vintage Sportscar Garage.

links don't work, suggest you upload the photos directly to this thread, it's pretty easy to do.

Tim called me and asked me to remove the table from a post I'd put up on facebook to drum up support. Basically after the rogue scotch pie control in Scotland on a previous run the organisers don't want the timetable and controls to be widely published outside CT. So I've taken the table down from facebook but will share with my sponsors. So Please don't share the table on social media, thanks....

Doing my prep for the RBRR I decided to fix a rich mixture issue I've had on the GT6 rear carb that wouldn't adjust any leaner. See my blog for my investigation and fix... https://cook1e.blogspot.com/2023/09/gt6-carb-mixture-issue-solved.html -
the triumphtune tuning manual has some useful information on springs and uprated. Moss stock the parts under the TRiumphtune part numbers (TT prefix) as Triumphtune became part of Moss years ago. Here's an extract.

Burlen are the main UK spares distributor for SU and Stromberg Carbs (& Amal Motorcycle carbs too), much better stock than Rimmers and most of the other Triumph specialists, plus of course you'll nearly always pay extra at Rimmers. Also they are the real experts if you need advice and always helpful. https://burlen.co.uk/

A Triumph speedo that's only 10mph out, that's about as accurate as they get unless they have been especially calibrated. My GT6 speedo reads over 85mph when the car is only doing 70, when I owned the Flying Log Dolomite it was showing 60mph when the car was actually doing over 70. -

Its being used to house migrants for the foreseeable future. It was a pretty crap hotel TBH and I've never used it since a disastrous stay there when the club Triumph annual dinner was held there. The premier Inn is so much better and the hotel that most of the RBRR crews use nowadays. See the following review I posted on trip adviser for the Novatel! https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowUserReviews-g190726-d191485-r355394122-Novotel_Stevenage-Stevenage_Hertfordshire_England.html -
So Tim Bancroft confirmed yesterday afternoon that my page is now linked to the main one. I didn't actually do anything to correct it, so it just seemed to have happened in the background. I did initially set my individual page up via the CT main page and it wasn't linked initially. but seems to have sorted itself out the following day so maybe there is un update overnight or something? Anyway begging email and facebook post sent out to potential sponsors and my first donation came in fairly soon afterwards and also shows up on the main CT page so included in the total and all looks good.

Tim, Could we have some basic instructions published either on the forum or as an RBRR email bulletin to advise exactly how we go about adding our individual team pages as a team on the main CT page please? I did try and follow the instructions that were sent out before but that just sets up an individual team page with no obvious way to link it to the main CT page. Thanks, Andy

Hi, I've created a fundraising page for our RBRR team but can't see how to add it to the main RBRR page as a team? can anyone advise how to do this as it doesn't seem obvious? , here is a link to our page, I haven't published it to anyone yet until it's linked to appear as a team against the main RBRR page in case I have to re-create the team page in a different way to be able to link it. https://www.justgiving.com/page/andrew-cook-1691241902233?utm_source=copyLink&utm_medium=one_page&utm_content=page/andrew-cook-1691241902233&utm_campaign=pfp-share&utm_term=ac9c833ac08144e1abb93a0aaf9fc745

Not sure where you are in the country? One of our local TSSC members who is based somewhere near Reading has a late one for sale. I think it was recently valued by the TSSC at around £17.5K so it's in nice condition but not a show car. If Reading is not too far for you then PM me your email address and I'll pass your details on.

started packing the car today, looking at the mail from Ellis the earliest we can arrive is 4pm, so I'm aiming to be there at 4 on the dot or waiting outside with the kettle on for a brew up if I'm too early!

Russell Phillips of Phillips Recovery round our way is used by a lot of Classic Car people to collect and deliver classics, Russell is based in Fleet where I live and a member of our local classic car club. I think his trucks are based in Sandhurst so part way between London and the South. 07752-189833 facebook page https://www.facebook.com/groups/1381425288973214

I'll be there mid afternoon on the Friday, I seem to remember 3pm is the earliest we can turn up so I'll arriving be around then, if I'm running early I'll stop for a brew up on my camping stove close by.

I tried to book my ticket for the show on the Sunday with BMM on Monday this week and my payments kept getting declined even using two different cards, as I had used the card a few minutes before to purchase the CT Camping ticket I knew that there was no issue with my cards. I phoned up Gaydon and they advised that their payment system was not accepting payments from some credit cards or banks, my bank being Santander was one of these I was told to keep trying later in the week. Just in case anyone else had similar issues I can now advise it's now fixed and I have now managed to get my Gaydon eticket.

Show your favourite Triumph...er, not your own!

My Sister Lizzie's Herald 12/50 convertible (fitted with tuned Spitfire 1500 engine, overdrive box and Spitfire diff) sprayed by her then hubbie, Paul Day who was a spayer by trade, owned from the mid 90s to about 10 years ago. Now sold on to Paul's uncle who has restored to to a somewhat more original look.... -
A message to all RBRR entrants
cook1e replied to Jason's topic in Round Britain Reliability Run (RBRR)
Not actually true, only the lead entrant has to be a member, other crew members don't. My Co-Driver has done every RBRR since 2014 with me but is not a CT member, but is a member of 2 other Triumph Clubs. -
