  1. OK a bit late for the drivers meet but I've got around to posting the clips onto yountube  from a DVD I made from footage shot at the RBRR in 2008... http://www.youtube.com/embed/U4O5qELCB6s http://www.youtube.com/embed/WpUP-GnIHHI http://www.youtube.com/embed/ETJwK7CKcFw http://www.youtube.com/embed/WszqChiLals http://www.youtube.com/embed/j2NYbtqh5wA
  2. My aged Navman doesn't do intineries either so I just did it as a set of POI points rather than an intinery so it should be OK for most even basic sat navs as long as they have a POI function...
  3. Dave, Speed camera POI files are available from a website called poscketgpsworld.com. These are via subscription but there are also installation guides for all types of satnavs on how to load the Speed camera POI files, these instructions should also work for my control point POI file :-) Installation guides available from the link below, you may need to register on the website to get at them but registration is free, it's just the speedcamera files that cost. Also there is a forum on the websitewhere you may be able to get some assistance in sorting out your missing map problem. http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Cameras#compat
  4. Don't know with Tom Tom, with the Navman it comes with some software that syncs up with the Satnav when it'splugged into a PC and has a function for loading POI files and setting parameters for each file, ie if you want a visual or audible warning, if so what logo or sound and how far awar from the point do you want the noise. This is how the speed camera alerts are set up, they are just POI files.  I've got a visible CT logo displaying on mine for the control points :-)

  6. beans wrote:Anyone have a list of the stops with normal coordinates  :-/ Oops to quick there coordinates just need converting from decimal  :B You can convert them using POIedit whcih is downloadable from the interweb for nowt... http://www.poiedit.com/downloads.htm In fact it's even from a Dutch website!!! :-)
  7. Dave, Easy to convert, just open in POIEDIT software and do a "save as" and there are loads of options on the drop down file types. There are two types for Tom Tom a binary file and an itinery files. In the best "Blue Peter" tradition here's a link to one I created earlier in Tom Tom Binary format:- http://homepage.ntlworld.com/cookiehome/Documents/RBRR%202012%20tom%20tom%20binary%20format.ov2 I recon you owe me one of your Pies at the Stirling Control for that   ;D
  8. I've been busy this evening and have created a POI file with the co-ordinates of all the RBRR 2012 control stops. Ive posted on the internet here:- http://homepage.ntlworld.com/cookiehome/Documents/RBRR%202012.csv It's in Navman format but can be converted to any other popular format (eg tom tom, garmin etc) using a POI editing tool such as POIedit which is available for free download.... http://www.poiedit.com/downloads.htm
  9. Sorry to hear that James......  If Mark's car isn't ready can we use yours as our back up? (only joking....)

John I must admit, A tradiitional Scottish Fried Breakfast with Oatcakes and haggis added to the normal English Breakfast content is pretty damn good.. But then I also like the scotch pies that we have at Morrisons Garage so perhaps I just like me food... However I haven't tried that other Scottish Delicacy the Deep Fried mars bar yet :-)
  11. Just checked it out on google street view and there is a burger van there called the borderer, hope this is gonna be open selling haggis burgers!
  12. No problems with the carbon offsetting not being there, just didn't want to say it is if it isn't on my sponsorship grovelling emails etc!
  13. Stuart, If it's like last time you use the conference centre entrance around the back rtaher than the entrance to the museum. There is a reception thier to check in at.
  14. Hi, Is there carbon offsetting with Climatecare again this time around? If there is I want to put this on the virgin money giving site I'm setting up as some people can have an issue with the event not being very green. Not that this worries me, I'm afraid I'm totally sceptical on climate change and think it's a conspiracy for green companies to make money! (I'm now expecting a barrage of replies with eveidence that the ice caps are melting!)
  15. Try and Avoid gettig a 3 rivet friction plate, they tend to shear and leave you stranded. This can be trikcy as a lot of the new ones are now 3 rivet even some that are listed as OEM quality from reputable suppliers. If you can find one go for a NOS genuine Borg and Beck or Laycock 3 pice clutch kit.
  16. Agree with esxefi... (Paul) I was recommended to use vaseline for holding bearing rollers in place when re-building a gearbox by a gearbox specialist due to the way it disolves and won't harm any bronze bushes etc, so with it's lubricating properties as well it ought to be good stuff for an engine rebuild.
  17. Better Picture of Paul's Car...
  18. When I needed a new battery I measured the battery tray and went for the highest rated battery I could find at the cash and carry that had the right terminals and would fit the tray...
  19. Make sure you don't leave the tappets set at 8 thou though because if the valves aren't closing properly not only will you lose power but you'll risk burning the seats/valves. The 10 thou setting at cold is to allow for the expansion when the engine gets hot so if you set at at 8 thou cold there will be a 2 thou gap and when hot which will allow hot gassess to escape through the gap which will damage the valve and seats where they should be sealing.
