  1. Richard My diff is fitted, hows those new tyres coming?  Guess the mot man went easy following having to remortgage to buy enough paper for the fails on the saloon
  2. Thanks guys I will try what Pete says this weekend. Richard Brake came around and we checked a few things I am going to start with wheel boxes and work back just like you guys suggested. James
  3. Hi All My wipers are not traveling though their full range, the play in the system seems to be in the wiper motor gearbox as the car is a mk1 pi its a two speed motor. My question is are the single speed and 2 speed gearboxes the same? (hoping I can swap the motor over) If their not does anyone know where I can get the one I have overhauled? Cheers James
  4. Its was a good day,  well organised by the CSMA. The day was nice and dry with 40 cars from Mx5's to the 2012 Merc AMG 6.3L with a sport tuned engine which lapped most cars and me in the spit quite easily. James
  5. Hi Ellis Can someone let everyone know what Autosolo's are in the mini series as there has not been any mention of the Series and if its running this year? Regards
  6. Hi have booked up in the Spit, looks like I have the smallest car and engine  ??) James
  7. I have KYB's on my saloon and have had not problems with them. I also had Gaz on my gt6 and they were great, they are also now on Richard Brakes spit now. James
  8. If it was me I would first open up the cylinder and check that the inside is not damaged or rusty as fitting new seals would be pointless. You can also check the size.
  9. Thanks Mike Ok so I removed the sump tonight the oil pump was shot the all the bearings have failed, I will post some picture tomorrow. James
  10. I do have to say that I am going to blame Matt even if it wasn't him as he did beat me. I guess I could blame him for the alternator bolt snapping on the way home to, ;D I will check the prv valve first. I have spare sets of shells, and a spare oil pump. So its going to be a couple of late evenings as the car is entered this weekend.
  11. Great guess I need to get the spare crank reground then. James
  12. Ok so last week Matt Helm and I were using my car at the Csma Auto solo. At the end of the day the oil pressure had dropped to 30 psi at 3000 rpm and dropped to between 5 and 10 psi at idle. I thought that this was just due to the abuse that Matt and I had been giving the car all day. When I arrived home I left the car to cool down till the next evening. When I started the car the next day the oil pressure was back to normal at about 65-70psi. I took the car for a drive about 8 mile and when the engine got back up to normal temp the oil pressure dropped off again. Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this
  13. Can anyone tell me if the 1500 spitfire non overdrive gearbox and the overdrive gearbox housings are the same casting? Thanks James
  14. Thanks Alex yes it looks like bad sun burn. Mr Ferny. I will bring some for you to Sixpenny Handley and exhaust tape to. Andy and I have decided to make up for it, by doing the next 10cr instead next year.
