  1. Are there any plans to have more RBRR T-Shirts made in the sizes that ran out today?

Surprised that we couldn't order T-shirts at the entry stage like we can on other events.

After being able to get a T-shirt for the last six RBRR's I've taken part in, it'll be very disappointing not to be able to get one for this RBRR.

  2. Many thanks to the organising team for a fantastic event.

We thoroughly enjoyed some great driving roads and some beautiful scenery

I've not had a great season regarding reliability and this event was no exception. My problems began early Sunday morning and the car finally expired about 10 minutes after leaving the breakfast stop and 278 miles from my home!  (But at least we completed the event!)

The AA were top notch to be fair. The first guy arrived after an hour and took us to Magor services near the Severn Bridge, and the second guy arrived 20 minutes after the first one departed and took us all the way home. (We arrived home 9pm last night.)

After initially thinking it was a fuel pump problem, it turned out the PRV had failed causing fuel pressure loss. (The car has been converted to Pi)

No matter, I still had a great time with some great mates, so what the heck! 🙂 Until the next one!.............

  3. Have any results been put up for this yet? I'd like to know how folk got on. 😊

Unfortunately I had to drop out of the event on the day with engine problems. Will have to find a co-driver for the C2C to make up for the disappointment of missing this. ☹️

  4. Below is a link to apply for the Clubman's licence required to compete in the 2023 HCR.

It takes about 5 minutes to complete. You wont need any passport photos, or medicals or anything like that and it's completely FREE.

This fabulous event has been brought back due to popular demand, but at present has a low entry number. Get those entries in and make this a popular event again. 🙂

I was kind of looking forward to this event coming back and entering.....however getting to the mid 70`s has slowed me down somewhat, so I think I/we may have to decline on such a good event that we done for a few times in the past

Just treat it as a C2C or similar. You don't have to be competitive. We'd had enough on one of them and were just dog tired, so we cut the route and just had a leisurely drive to the finish. Nobody will berate you for it and it will still be a weekend out and about. 😊

Entry up to 8 cars now, would be nice to see a few more....

I think the clubmans licence my be stalling a few people Mike. Maybe put a link on here of where to get one? Also explain to people that it's free and they wont need passports pics, medical etc.....

  7. The third car in Team Spotlight is Dave Harvey's Fabulous Maple Brown MK2 Pi. A very well engineered car and very well maintained and looked after by its owner.  I've been lucky enough to have driven this car a few times now and it's one of the best Triumphs I've driven. (Pic taken on the 2012 RBRR next to Gertie1)

we went to see her today, they have fitted a new rear spring and trying to fathom out why they can't get rid of the positive camber it is quite severe, is this normal? will just weight in the boot sort it? they were talking about repainting the old spring and putting that back on?  I had been looking in the forum to see if there were any posts regarding this.

No it's not normal and will affect the handling. There are plenty of Spitfire experts on here that will be able to advise, unfortunately, I'm not one of them. Big saloons are the only Triumph I've had anything to do with.

@RobPearce thankyou, I have entered!!  I will purchase crew member when I know who is crazy enough to join me.  Hilton spitfire squad !! - newbies

As quoted last night by Jason who is one of the organising team.......

'Just go back in and add another team member. Basically you buy a team member at a time - you should load each one into your online shopping cart then check out. But you can do it retrospectively - just don't sit there with half an entry because that's not valid.'

  10. Also stop calling the event the 10CR, because then you are limited to the same 10 countries all the time. (Although this event was a 9CR because the event started in France, finished in the Netherlands and never went to England in between. 🙂)

I'd rather do fewer countries, but different ones.

My thoughts is you have 24 hours to drive what is being done in 8 at the moment, so you can stop and smell the roses so to speak. More nicer, but slower, roads, time to stop for lunch etc without worrying you will be late getting to hotel.

Agreed. No going back to work more knackered than when you left there!

  12. I never work out the final cost of these events. I take part to have a great time, drive some great roads and have a good laugh, so I'm not bothered what the final fee is.

I don't work out my costs or MPG on the RBRR either. it's all irrelevant to me. The fun in doing the event far outweighs any costs. 🙂
