I didn't realise it's the week after 10CR, so I guess there is a good chance that we won't get many CT teams entering. You'd have to be a real glutton for punishment to spend 5 days driving round Europe, then a week later spend a night blasting round Warwickshire!

Erm.....team glutton for punishment entering in the form of Radley/Wake. 😲

Entry Form for the CT 3CR is now available to download below, and is also available from the Comps Website at [Sorry, link no longer available], at the bottom of the page.  The Regulations will be posted shortly.

    Entry already in from Radley/Wake.

    Hello Dave,

you can't use the column switch wires to connect to a tell tale lamp, as it on the earth side of the overdrive relay coil. Take a wire from the output side of the relay and connect the other side of the lampholder to earth.

    Alec

I'm pretty sure that's how my one is wired up on Gertie.

This looks like it'll be a good event, bit of a navigation event with tests and a run up the hill climb.

I'm going to be doing it in the TR7

    Hi Stuart,

You'll have to let us know how you get on. Colin Wake and I did the Hughes Rally a couple of weeks ago and the East Anglian Classic yesterday. (Boy, it was hot!)

I hope your tests are not as punishing on the car as ours were. Looks like I need to invest in more welding wire.

    Hello Radders,

if you look at the works rally 2000s, that was the type of knob and switch combination they used. Probably judged too 'agricultural' for a production car.

    Alec

Hi Alec, yes, I've seen them on the works cars.

I have to say I much prefer the feel of them to the Mk2 'slide' type, plus the overdrive stalk on the column can then be used for something else. (Wipers, full beam etc. Handy on night rallies.)

He made it back to the hotel in time for a few beers 😀

We never! But we did complete the second half in full and managed a couple of beers at the finish instead. 🙂

A brilliant weekend as usual and Gertie has just clocked up another 815 miles without issue or breakdown.

Many thanks to the organisers of this fantastic event for making it so enjoyable. 🙂
