Anyone need a co-driver? Don't want to commit to using the 2000 in case it has a nervous breakdown on the 10CR.
Send Davemate a message. It's about time he started using his car for stuff other than commuting! 🙂
-
Oh, come on Jon. Get into the spirit of things and do it in your Mk1 saloon. Fly the flag for CT. 😀

I didn't realise it's the week after 10CR, so I guess there is a good chance that we won't get many CT teams entering. You'd have to be a real glutton for punishment to spend 5 days driving round Europe, then a week later spend a night blasting round Warwickshire!
Erm.....team glutton for punishment entering in the form of Radley/Wake. 😲
-
Mr Wake and myself will be entering this. Should be good fun. 🙂

Entry Form for the CT 3CR is now available to download below, and is also available from the Comps Website at [Sorry, link no longer available], at the bottom of the page. The Regulations will be posted shortly.
Entry already in from Radley/Wake.

Hello Dave,
you can't use the column switch wires to connect to a tell tale lamp, as it on the earth side of the overdrive relay coil. Take a wire from the output side of the relay and connect the other side of the lampholder to earth.
Alec
I'm pretty sure that's how my one is wired up on Gertie.

All bits required have been found 🙂
Why didn't you look at Gertie's o/d light when you were round the other Friday? 🙂
-
I like the sound of this. I'm going to badger Mr Wake 🙂

(think)(think)(think)(think)(think) Why, is there likely to be a special stage in Tesco car park 😀
If there is, don't let her get out of the car! 😀

This sounds very tempting indeed and what's more I am off that weekend............(think)(think)
Janet and I missed the HCR this year so could be a good excuse to practice for the next HCR 🙂
I take it Janet will be navigating? 🙂

That bad eh???
That's what you get for having a bit of "red mist" on the tests
Ah, it was great fun though 😀 -

This looks like it'll be a good event, bit of a navigation event with tests and a run up the hill climb.
I'm going to be doing it in the TR7
Hi Stuart,
You'll have to let us know how you get on. Colin Wake and I did the Hughes Rally a couple of weeks ago and the East Anglian Classic yesterday. (Boy, it was hot!)
I hope your tests are not as punishing on the car as ours were. Looks like I need to invest in more welding wire. -
Sorry Jon, can't make this one. Will be smoking Gertie around the Isle of Skye and the Scottish highlands.

Like hanging the co-drivers clean underwear on for one of Radder's moments 😀
Oi! Do you mind? I've not had a 'moment' (Or an 'off') for years now. 🙂

Hello Radders,
if you look at the works rally 2000s, that was the type of knob and switch combination they used. Probably judged too 'agricultural' for a production car.
Alec
Hi Alec, yes, I've seen them on the works cars.
I have to say I much prefer the feel of them to the Mk2 'slide' type, plus the overdrive stalk on the column can then be used for something else. (Wipers, full beam etc. Handy on night rallies.)

I flipping hate those overdrive switches in the gearknob >
See my blog !
I have a similar performance overdrive gearknob to Martin, but mine is an Austin Healey one. Fit and forget! 🙂

He made it back to the hotel in time for a few beers 😀
We never! But we did complete the second half in full and managed a couple of beers at the finish instead. 🙂
A brilliant weekend as usual and Gertie has just clocked up another 815 miles without issue or breakdown.
Many thanks to the organisers of this fantastic event for making it so enjoyable. 🙂
-
Thank you Roger. Looking forward to the event and also meeting up with everyone again. 🙂
-
Hi Jon,

Entries are now open for the CMC Tendring Hundred 12 Car on the 24th Feb - see https://chelmsfordmc.co.uk/
I believe Mr Wake is organising this one, so cant compete. So, is anyone free to navigate for me? If not I'll have have to settle for a freezing cold layby marshalling instead. 🙂
-
Has my entry not arrived yet Jon? 🙁
-
Entry coming from Mr Wake and myself. 🙂
