  1. New bolt in Colin, Oh it's an up rated bolt too 😉  Still waiting for the new prop and gear box mount though. 🤔
  2. Find out the source of the stepping clutch action............Took ages to get the broken part out, had to drill a hole in the bottom of the bellhousing to drill out the bolt. Anyway new gaskets fitted and ready to refit. My list is getting shorter............5 out of 12 on the list done 😎
  3. Surely he hasn't received a knighthood whilst we've been away for our hols?!?! Signal Red - 1967 MkI Vitesse Saloon - North Bucks Anything possible for a Yorkshire Man 😇
  4. New tie rod ends fitted 😆 New brake discs and pads fitted along with caliper pistons 😎 Best tip, make sure you change your brake fluid every 2 years or sooner if laid up where condensation is rife, and don't let your disc wear like this 😲
  5. Don't worry I will still be carrying a spare can of petrol if needed. 😎 It will just make Cookie drive more economical.................😛
  6. Nice picture Mike, zoom in and you can spot the bloop of grease on the O/S front wing, that's a mystery........
  7. Oh yes, much better, you can't see my stomach! What about the legs in this one?!?!?!?!  😫    There usually not allowed out for reasons shown.......Thanks Pete for that 🤔
  8. Started with the severe steering wobble first, thought it needed looking at 😲 Now fitting two new tie rod ends..............
  9. Andrew,  Nice of you to post a photo showing off my stomach!!!!!!! Glad to hear you got home safely.  We reached home on a recovery truck from south of Newark due to the Vitesse's water pump giving up on us.  So that will be one problem found but I think there's still another one to be identified! This one better Pete 😉
  10.   “Hope you don't want your seats back” I couldn’t afford the fuel if I had that much extra weight added to the car!!! We put him on the scales and he weighs in at 1465kgs without people 😲
  11. Do you need blue lights up it? Hey that would be great.......They obviously got through the terrible experience of being launched off Pooh's roof during Rutty's driving then 😲
  12. Another fantastic event from Club Triumph. Janet and I thoroughly enjoyed the event last year and just had to do the event again in the 2dr seeing how I spent some time on it before the start this time, so it wouldn't break down again! Needless to say it played up on day one all the way around and after the finish on leg 1 I decided to change the condenser, only to discover the screw holding it in was not holding it in and the condenser was jumping about the distributor. Screw tightened and no more problems for the next leg.  Well done again to all the organisers and of course, all of us who entered, great group all round. 😎
  13. To do, starting next weekend. 2 new engine mounts, new gearbox mount, new prop-shaft, and biggest job, remove the gearbox again and sort out why the clutch operates like a hand brake ratchet being pulled up when you depress the pedal 😲 don't do it with the engine not running.
  14. That is most kind of you. Not the sort of offer one would expect from a Yorkshireman😉 Clive, he'll re-read what he just wrote and become a Yorkshire man again 😫
  15. New addition.........       Colin, keep your beady eyes off  Rutty, no more than legal limit 😉
  16. The 2dr is all sorted and ready, new condenser, (and spares) points, engine mounts and radiator......Don't ask!..........Alright I'll tell ya, brake test last week just to take all the rust off the disc's, car stops good, engine didn't 😲
  17. That will be easy to test, we've got roads here like that!!
  18. It sounds like the panel isn't a good fit or a pattern part? When we have had ill fitting gaps, sometimes it calls for drastic action by means of a nut and bolt. If it is possible to drill through both panels and push a bolt through attach nut (with washer if needed) and tighten. Sometimes a slit on the new panel helps form a new shape. When gaps don't line up can mean there was a stress point around this area when the car was built and jigged up during assembly, once a panel is removed it can alter the shape of the reinforcing panel making realignment seem difficult and make you think the panel isn't right as well. All part of the panelbeaters world. Sometimes the challenge  can be very challenging 😉
  19. Ted, 6 months!!!!! Time it should be framed and hung on the wall in the lounge 😲
  20. I used to hillclimb a 1600 Vitesse in competition in the mid to late '70's and a 2.5 PI later on and good suspension set up and torque. Plenty of torque is the key ingredient. The Vitesse had the torque which matched the 2 litres cars up any hill. Though on the track it was lost a little, Horse power was needed, that's until the 2.5 PI came into my ownership. 😉
