  1. I am 56.  I think during the event any lack of sleep was made up for by the continual adrenile rush.  Only felt tired after the event when I cam back down to earth.

Tim Take heart in that there were many more happy stories than sad.  Many stories of crews and spectators/marshalls helping to keep entrants on the road.  In my case it was Mark's kindness in letting me have his spare drive shaft in scotland that allowed me to finish my first RBRR. Keith :)
  3. There will be a 4 page spread in Classic Car Weekly out on Wednesday 17th written and photographed by 2 of the occupants of car 87. As journalists they could not get much closer to the event and the enthusiasm and camerardarie.  For good measure they even threw in a drive shaft breakdown and repair.
  4. I will leave our snagging list to Matt as I am only the mechanic.  There is one bit he ius truely happy with and that is the 2500 engine I rebuilt earlier thsi year.  I was happy as it was my first engine rebuild.  the next majot thing to have a go at is a gearbox and overdrive rebuild.  Any help and advice would be appreciated as I would like to do it myself.
  5. Getting Matt's car back on the road at Lauder with help of a replacement half shaft courtesy of Mark Bland.  As 1 hour earlier I had the sinking feeling my first RBRR event was over. Sunrise at Land's End.
  6. For use on my Garmin I converted all the original decimal codes provided and programmed them into my Garmin by hand.  I had the option of selecting co-ordinates to locate where I wanted to go or the alternative with the My Itinary option was to select the control points by using the co-ordinates option.  I also added the missing co-ordinates for the new control stops. As most people suggest the Sat Nav is a back up for the night driving when only one of us should be awake and driving instead of reading the map. As a first timer I am trying to give the team the best chance of completing the event.  We will be in car 87 my son's Triumph 2000 MKII.  Look forward to meeting you all.
