hi Bill, it was the profile of the new catches. they are to square on the edge's. I tied to up load to the pictures last night, but have not come out. it shows i had to file the shape edges off. now working ok. cheers scotty

fitted new catches to the body, but it allows the door to spring back out by 1/2". this cause them to rattle!! I had replace the door seals, and they are the rare bits ones. with the catches remove the door will go up tight to the body. I have replace and greased up the anti bust catches. this has made it worse, so any ideas guys?

you will have a problem with the profile at the bottom. if you have the 1360 wings, they bow out at the front due to the shape of the head light bow. I was going to the same as your self, but found the new pressing are smaller. I did find in the practical classic book on the herald, were they had a 1360 wing on the vitesse which had modded. lots of cutting. good luck.

job done,i needed to add another 6 thou under the pedestal. engine is a bit tight, but now cranks over ok.

cheers M, yes i think is clamping down when cranking, so i will be looking at it today. hopefully clearing the problem. scotty

sorry for late reply guys, i had added a shim washer under the mesh gear, being it was missing when i had rebuilt the engine. could this cause the dizzy gear to be misaligned with cam gear? and making it harder to crank over? i only added the shim as it was shown in the 13/60 parts book.

hi Guys, have fitted a new power spark ignition to me 13/60 rebuild engine, and with a new battery it cranks over 2 or 3 times them kills the battery! i have shimmed the dizzy pedestal with the paper gaskets. canleys listed 6 thou and 20 thou, so i have used the 20 thou gasket. this should have given the correct clearance. i was looking for a larger battery to help crank it over, i have the standard 45 amp, but like a 56 amp. cheers scotty71

hi guys, who makes the best door seals? my 13 60 had a set when i brought it, but now i have rebuilt the car, the doors do not close up tight. but spring back open by about 1/2". was talking to the guys last week up the NEC, and gentleman could Jason showed me that he had a square off looking seal which worked. any taker, want the got the car finished asap. cheers scotty71
