  1. The seam between the wings and the top panel can be done in situ using a combination of traditional welding and modern epoxy glue. Line everything up, clamp from beneath, then tack weld from above. Grind these welds down, then force 2-pack vehicle body glue down into the join from above. When cured, dress the seam, apply enough body filler to cover the join and form the 'seam'.

The torque easily coped with the taller gearing for everyday driving, and made cruising at (or way above ;) ) the UK legal limit very relaxing.

    diff ratios

Hi, All Stags were fitted with a 3.7:1 final drive. The saloons had a 3.45:1 ratio and this can be used to reduce rpm at cruising speeds, particularly in the auto. From personal experience, I have had a MOD Stag with the 3.45:1 diff and it was fine on a run, but you do notice it in traffic. My current auto Stag is also fitted with a 3.45:1 and it does make a difference, but still doesn't reduce the cruising revs to as low as a manual car in O/D top. What you will find is that the saloon diff has a different carrier to the Stag and you will have to change the back cover. Some cases won't accept all 8 of the cover fixing screws as 2 of the holes don't line up. This can be overcome though.

    Windscreen

I'm pretty sure they are unique and not even used on other Triumphs, Julian.
  5. Good to hear it was something simple. When this happened to me many years ago it was the pin that secures the clutch fork to the cross-shaft that had snapped. Gearbox out job.....  :( No such problem with the auto..............  ;D Dave

  10. EBC Greenstuff pads are a worthwhile upgrade. Otherwise standard discs and calipers are fine.
