  1. Hi Jason I would probably have to rebuild your own gearbox but could convert it to overdrive at the same time. The mainshaft probably needs replacing anyway so an OD type wouldn't cost anymore. I could probably find a J type overdrive to rebuild and the conversion parts are available out of the UK. If you do the OD conversion we/you would also need a gearbox mount and plate, some bits for the inhibitor switch arrangement and the switch that goes on the steering column or an OD gearstick with the switch on the top. The column switch is correct for the Vitesse. You would also need to shorten the propshaft as the gearbox with OD is longer than the non OD box I used to run a Triumph service shop for many years and have done many gearbox rebuilds and overdrive conversions. I now work at Upper Classics a restoration workshop in Chch. Have a look at our website if you want to see the work we do   regards Terry
  2. Hi Jason where in New Zealand are you? Im in Christchurch and could rebuild your gearbox and/or fit an overdrive for you   regards Terry
  3. Hi I don't really think it will make any difference however I think you will be governed by the flare on the end of each pipe as these are probably different between the feed (inlet) and where the bleed nipple fits  regards Terry
  4. Hi 13/60 Herald or 1300 FWD would at least give you the t knob and fittings  regards terry
  5. I think you will find the front of the FWD crank has a taper on it whereas the Spitfire crank is plain. All to do with the loading of the ring gear   regards terry
  6. Hi Im afraid not as the front of the crank is different because of the ring gear  regards Terry
  7. Mr Triumph boosted the front circuit only for a very good reason on the GT6, There is so much weight and weight transfer to the front of a GT6 under braking that the rears would just lock up as they are so lightly loaded. Your setup should work just fine if you can get the rear circuit bled
  8. Hi check that there is free play between the pushrod and the master cylinder piston. If there is no freeboard at the pedal then that can stop the rear circuit working as fluid can not get from the reservoir to the rear circuit part of the master cylinder
