    Bonnet stay

The same thing happened to my car, an early MK2. Pain in the arse! I managed to rivet the backing bracket back in.

    r200 diff

Even with O/D you would be wringing its neck mate with a 4.11. The 2.5 needs a longer diff than that. Mine runs an A type with a 3.45, and i would put a longer ratio in if I could!
  3. I would get them refaced mate. Use plenty of break in paste and treat it as a new cam for the first 20 minutes. Keep revs above 2500, and it should be fine!
  4. The followers need to go back on the lobe they were originally on. I use an egg carton, and number inside the lid. 12 lifters, 12 eggs!
  5. That's good to hear Greeks. A blockage would be the obvious answer if the fuel pump is in otherwise good nick. I have the AC mech pump, and it seems to have no trouble feeding 3 SU's at all sorts of revs. Its a rising rate pump being driven from the cam, and is up to the job, as far as I have found!

    Cam lobes

As the amount of zinc in oils is being reduced, we will continue to see more and more of this. Old school flat tappet engines like ours are susceptible, and the Triumph  even more so due to the narrow lobes and lifters. The cam can always be welded and reground, I just had mine done, but always do the lifters at the same time, as if a lobe is buggered, there is a fair chance the lifter is too.
  7. For what its worth, I have bought a few things from Goodparts, and his freight charges were pretty good. Good communication and timeframes too. If the hubs are of a similar quality to his roller rockers and valves, I say go for it!
  8. Mine was a similar issue - I took them to a mate with a dyno for a same day before and after comparison, and found that the 140 thou taken off the head in conjunction with the wade 140 meant I had no clearance! from memory I have the PI pushrods (shorter?) and the calculations said 60 thou spacers would be ok. They were. Then the bloody thing leaned out a bit down low (as I needed with the needles I have) but leaned out up high (not as good). I got around it eventually though, and thoroughly recommend his stuff. the swap was worth 8 hp up high, but more down low. Changed the way the car drove.
  9. Andy, I have a set of the Goodparts 1:55 on my car, and I ended up making a set of 60 thou shims to give the correct clearance. I spoke to Richard Good (lovely bloke) and he said either shims or shorter pushrods would be ok. Regarding the shims on the way from him, if they are anything like the quality of his rockers, you will not be disappointed.
