Common triumph problem when the bushes in the steering column become worn. If you put weight on to one side of steering wheel they often toot then. If you remove the steering wheel and machine or grind a couple of MM off base of steering wheel hub this will usually solve the problem
Hi,I have to be honest and say WHY?. I have a 1972 GT6 Mk 3. Although it has only done 89000 miles i recently replaced the Rotoflex couplings with genuine replacements and I am absolutely convinced it is the first time in this cars history that they have been replaced. Modifications usually create problems in my experience. Rocky
All done no problems ended up just putting 3/8 unc bolt with copper washer and "o" ring. The biggest worry was snapping the drill off in the diff. The oil was dirty but no nasty stuff
I haven't done it yet as I haven't quite got axles back in and the the jack support on the hoist is in the road so have to wait till its back on its wheels. But thats food for thought!!!!!!!!. I do have a 1/8 bsp tap and some old grease nipples that i could braze the end over at least that would give me a tapered thread rather than a copper washer. Had no problems changing the Rotoflex couplings and you won't believe this but the car has only done 86,000 miles and from all accounts the couplings I took off were the original ones. Not bad for 41 years.
Hi, I am currently replacing the rotoflex couplings on my 72 GT6, while I am at it Im replacing leaking diff seals and was wondering if any of you have drilled a drain hole in the diff tapped and plugged it whie the diff is still in place. Rocky NZ
