  1. I wonder if he'll still be saying that when 60 Triumphs turn up!
  2. Guys Before we start getting into what is "allowed" on the road etc... EVERYONE has a responsibility to not drive if they feel they are THAT tired, and that they are not in control... I've done the event as a two man crew, and three man crew. Yes it's easier as a three man crew, but to be honest, by the time you get to Sunday afternoon, you're over the worst of the tiredness from the night before, it's more about discipline within your team to ensure people are sleeping when they need to. If you can't control that, then maybe you should look for another event. Tim and the team spend a lot of time and effort working with the MSA to ensure the event is within the regulations laid out for a long distance touring assembly, and that appropriate breaks are built in to satisfy that. I suppose what I'm saying John is acknowledge your concerns, but I think appropriate steps are already taken for the entrants to be sensible about their safety. Everyone has a responsibility to themselves and other road users to get home in one piece. Cheers Ellis Stokes Competitions Secretary
  3. Dates now confirmed - Starting in Lille on Wednesday 6th Sept and finishing at Rolduc on Saturday 9th Sept - we've had to bring it forward a day due to Rolduc not being available on Sunday 10th Sept... Thanks to Theo for negotiating us in on the Saturday instead... Entry will open with the November mag, limited to 60 cars, so don't hang about as it's filled within days the last 3 times... and remember, incomplete entries will not be accepted, so make sure your crews are confirmed... you have a month to sort it out!
  4. Cheers Steve and everyone else that's helped bringing this to entrant's attention. In case anyone is interested, the suggested A167 / A168 route just brushes Darlington before re-joining the original route, and passes close to a 24 hour fuel station (Shell) - Woodland Rd, Darlington DL3 9NQ. Cheers all and see you on Friday.
  5. Charlie and myself are in Mike, in Sid the S'tate. Will give you the entry form etc on Monday evening.
  6. Details for the AMSC AutoSOLO in June: The second round of this year's AMSC Autosolo, Autotest and PCA series which includes the Malcolm Cleverley MX5 Award will be held at MOD Wethersfield on June 5th. Regs and Entry forms are available on the website http://www.amsc.org.uk/aac16/html/round2.html We welcome entries from non-AMSC club members for any of the events and we are very keen to encourage those who haven't tried this type of motor sport before. In fact we get several newcomers and junior drivers each time we have a Solo which is why we have introduced a PCA class for this year. Further info from Tony Burchnall. Comp Sec ECMC, a member club of AMSC.
  7. Hi all If you are intending to enter and haven't yet, please contact Nigel Abdullah and get your completed entry form in straight away... With current entry numbers, the event is in serious doubt, and would be a shame to have to pull it due to lack of interest. Cheers Ellis
  8. Here's a link to the forms on the Comps website: [Sorry, link no longer available]
  9. Translation: Haven't found someone that doesn't know how I drive or is willing to take the risk! 😉
  10. We took plenty of those Andy - Sunday we ended up going on the motorway in the wrong direction... twice.  The car got so dizzy it broke down!
  11. Some of you may have noticed a little camera in my front screen whilst on the 10CR this year... it was taking a picture every three seconds, which a nice clever piece of software has knitted together into a timelapse movie. If you're interested, I've posted these on YouTube at the links below... enjoy 😉 Day 1 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0VaWmpQtqN8 Day 2 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=123a1QJ3DVs Day 3 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AjMK6TcXbJw Day 4 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXBNj8AFc-o

Full details can be found on the downloadable regs and entry form from the link below. http://club.triumph.org.uk/comps/?id=92 If you've never taken part in an autosolo, this is an ideal opportunity to take part in a low cost competitive event to see how you and your car fair. More details on autosolos can be found here: http://club.triumph.org.uk/comps/?id=87 Cheers Ellis (on behalf of Nigel Adbullah - Autosolo mini-series co-ordinator)
  18. All Having a day or so to reflect, the run itself went like clockwork, I think the one disappointing thing was the number of entries... I've already had some positive comments about the run and some really good ideas to potentially move the event forward. I think the main one is as I mentioned on Sunday, basing the event back in the middle of the country and making a circular route, ie. start and finish are pretty much together. We've also had a few other ideas which could be key, but obviously can't share as it will spoil the basis of the event. Any further ideas welcomed, including any from people that have done the run previously and haven't for a while - tell us why and we'll try to address it in a revised format. I know we can't fix everything, but at least if we know, we can try and do something. Cheers all E.
  19. Glad everyone that took part seemed to enjoy it, and good to hear you and the car got back OK Mike. I also extend my thanks to the other organisers and helpers - food was exceptional at the start and finish, and the people at the museum made us feel very welcome. Abridged results as follows - full results will be shown in the next edition of Club Torque. 1st - James Baldry / Paul Mellors 2nd - Yossarian Gay / Katy Dowland 3rd - Mike Banks / Mark Rutter Gymkhana - 1st Colin Wake / Russell Banyard
