After some adjustment of the runners and side frames, I gave both seats to a local chap who works as a trimmer in the Bentley car factory. He lowered the foam height in the bases by 1" and also removed the electrical occupancy pads.
I then drilled four new holes in the floorpan and mounted the drivers seat.
After taking the car for a test drive this afternoon I can report that I am happy with the result.
Next job is to install the passenger seat.

Hi Colin.
Welcome. Keep an eye on the club magazine and this forum for details of up and coming events. CT does the driving events very very well.👏

Living in the South East as I do means that it could be easier for me to take part in a quick euro blast, than say the RBRR? I dunno, but I’d certainly be interested! The RBRR starts and finishes in the south east of the UK🤔

Hi Clive.
Thanks for the quick reply and the suggestion regarding a 3.63
I have a 2.5 litre engine stashed in the garage which will be going into the car at some point in the future.
Why is the 3.63 considered stronger than the 3.27? Load stresses?

Hi All
I am considering fitting a 3.27 diff to our Mk3 GT6 to reduce engine revs. The car has a 2 litre engine, 4 speed box with overdrive.
Can anyone advise from previous experience on this configuration?
Thanks in anticipation

Thanks mikeyb, does the start and finish vary or are they always the same locations?
Different each time so far for the three times the event has run.

Entry is usually around £130 plus another £100 or so for return ferry crossing UK/France. Then there will be fuel for around 2000 miles of driving, then food and B&B. Entry cost usually includes supper and accomodation on the last night. Previous years' expense for myself in a Stag have been around £800 all in, shared with the co-driver.
Thanks for info.👍

Hi.

Just been watching an interesting video clip on YouTube where the chap welded the back top section of a MX5 mark 3 seat to a gt6 seat frame. He then attached the baseplate from the MX5 to the GT6 base and used the foams and covers of the MX5 seats. The result was a seat low to the floor but with side bolsters and a high back and head rest.

Other option is drop the floor pan a couple of inches, then the MX5 seats fit better.
I would look at pictures of what others have done, or even better try to get to see some.
there are a couple of GT6 with MX5 tombstone seats in them. Sure 1 of the owners is about6 ft.
I am hearing that MX5 mark 1 seats fit a GT6 okay?
