I have Carb balancer (Holts) and it works OK, but I'm not sure its any better than listening with a bit of tube. However, for the money its piece of mind...

Just sold my old manifold but still have the 1.75 strombergs - would need rebuilding - I replaced them with HS6's. And I recently fitted a 2500 long reach manifold since advice seems to be this is better than the TR6 one. And avoids fouling sterering rack if you converted to rhd.

I stripped mine with a flapper/disc abrasive wheel on the outside and left the inside since they were covered in fairly good underseal. Then acid etch primed, etc. Guess it depends how much rust you have.

I replaced the coil and distributor for my GT6 with electronic (SimonBBC - is that Accuspark?) and had to fit it differently since drive on dizzy was different than Original. Needed to adjust dizzy to fire on no.1 cyl which makes rotor arm way off where it was originally. ie 180 degrees out. If you already did that please ignore....
