  1. the standard starter was hitting exhaust downpipe it has a 3-2-1 manifold the little square at the end of starter for turning internals was hitting so ground it off to give it clearance.then it burnt out hence why I bought the hi  torq one
  2. took it to bits as in picture 1 of springs snapped holding brush in place I think to wire it from the old solonid this would still need to be fixed
  3. does anybody know who fix's these its a powerlite  one ..was cranking it and half way just went slow and the solenoid unit on the top was very hot powerlite don't list any spares ..its only 4 years old .
  4. i just bashed mine out they wasnt that tight maybe put the nut on the end so as not to swell stud when hitting but mine came out easy
  5. great pictures looking good what toosl are you using to make repair panels for example on the roof to get the curves and bends just vice and dollys or do you have some bending eqipment
  6. yes the plate is missing took other side to bits and made a plate out of a old hanger bracket as in picture 8).so the button works as when door is shut it will lock the door one way and unlock the other way and if its in the locked position and you pull the handle open it moves the black button to the unlock postion and opens door at same time...cheers guys
  7. the black button next to the door handle, what should it do..LOL silly question I know but I have no handbook :-/when the door is closed should you move it 1 way to lock door and the other way to unlock the lock or does it work another way?when I took the handle out the spring for the lock button ? was floating around on the rod where the green arrow is in the picture.their is a stop on the rod to hold said spring I removed the pin on the threaded end and  removed the spring and fitted it as in the picture where the red arrow is ..is this correct or is something missing..this now puts the little black switch under spung tension holding it one way is this correct and if so what the switch do as now it pulls locking lever on catch to locked position so when you shut door it locks on its own and you pull little black lever then inner door handle to get out ...confussed I am ??)
  8. eBay item number: 181123993250 check this out cheaper than a megajolt anybody  fitted one simple to fit watch the videos on the bottom of the listing what do you think ????
  9. ground a flat on it and resealed it seems ok at moment if it leaks its going in the bin bah!
  10. just rebuilt my gearbox and fitted one of these run car up and guess what the only place it leaks is from that ...looks like the bottom of the gearbox casing is not FLAT think I will have to try and grind it/file it flat has anyone else had a problem fitting these cheers :(
  11. fitted poly bushes to my gt6 mk3 arms 2 years been fitted no problems
  12. my gt6 is running rich at 9% co it has stromburg cd150s which you adjust needles down the dashpots I removed the carbs and set the float levels to 18mm as in the big red book checked again and still the same I set the needles delving washer flush with the pistons still at 8% co when I weakened the needles anticlockwise 1 turn.the exhaust note is chuffing.while on the machine I pulled the pipe off the rocker box that feeds the two pipes to the carbs and it purred like a cat co2.5% hydrocarbons 360. sweet I changed the oil today to see if poss fuel contamination in oil.its better but still runs better with the pipes to the carbs going to atmosphere..when I put my finger over the pipe going to the carbs the idle dropped and co went back to 8% so I guess these carbs need the air to feed to the carbs via these pipes. could I put the pipe off the rocker cover into a breather bottle and put one of them breather filters onto the pipes feeding the carbs or would I be better of blocking the pipes to the carbs and trying to set it up cheers I did read somebody done it with their vitesse but cant remember wear I see it has anyone done it :-/
  13. i have a late mk3 gt6 and have ordered a steering wheel nut part no. 105438 but the threads are too fine the column has a very coarse thread any ideas as the nut fitted at moment is wrong and loose i cannot find another part no anywhere a late spit 1500 has a part no.138466 but the pictures of that nut the threads look fine to i have posted 2 pics .. :-/unless somebody re threaded it but i dont think you would be able too cheers(think)
