  2. Hi All, Im just getting round to fitting the hood on the spit. Can anyone tell me what this tab of material is for i have circled in red? They are just hanging there on the orginal hood... :-/ (Im in the process of taking lots of photos before dismantling) Thanks Jamie

  4. Hi All, The time has come to install some headlights, the car didnt have any when i purchased it, im struggling to find a supplier that has all the required parts in stock. Just a few questions 1. Can anyone tell me if the headlights fitted to the 1500 are the same? 2. Are the plastic or metal nests better? 3. Are the chrome rings the same as original? Im thinking of going for the quadoptic lenses with some h4 bulbs in the back.... As always any help appreciated. Jamie
  5. Thanks guys, will order some up and see what how they go.
  6. Had another look tonight the holes are definately to big , pushed the clips onto the badge first and its still a slightly loose fit when offered up. Have a feeling the painter drilled out the holes oversize after filling and painting .... Would using starlock washers work?.....
  7. Hi All, I have just gone to fit the triumph badges to the bonnet of my mk3 spit. I inserted the plastic clips into the holes and then went to press the badge into the clips. To my horror the clips just pushed through the holes ??) It seems the holes in the bonnet are to big for the little black plastic clips. Has anyone come across this before? Any help greatly appreciated. Jamie
  8. Thanks Bill, seems like your the man in the know. Does the gap between my p seal and screen frame edge look about right? Pic was taken with the leg of the seal held up against the corner I'm aware the bubble door seal I have fiited is incorrect, i need to get some original type ones . Jamie

  10. Thanks JensH ! Looks like the bulge of the p seal sits slightly over the edge of the screen frame . Can't really understand why the seal goes down that far?

  16. Hi all, My last post seemed to dissapear when the forum went down yesterday. Can anyone tell me where i can get some original type door seals? The seals i have fitted seem to make closing the door a bit tight. Also how far down the a post should the p seal go? Any help much appreciated. Jamie

  18. Thanks Shaun , nearly there with the restoration , just want to drive it!
  19. Hi Alex, Thanks for your help on this , it took a while but got there in the end. And the runners are great  8) If anyone else is looking to recover some mk3/2 seats in the future this thread should help. In regards to the clips I just copied how the seats where before I took them apart.
  20. Hi All, Finally fionished the seats  :) Applied some spray contact adhesive to the cushion and cover and glued them together making sure the cover was central. Used some pliers to attach 5 hog rings to the rear of the seat cover &  basket doubling the material over whilst attaching. Then fitted the seat cushion to the frame and secured with clips. All in all im pleased with the results.
  21. Thanks for the pics Alex, your seats look great! managed to get that wrinkle almost out by pulling a bit more and re-clipping the back. Did you glue the cover to the foam cushion? Not sure whether to or not.
  22. Hi Alex, No I haven't done the seat bases yet , going to do the second back tonight. Thanks for the tip regarding the wrinkle , will give it a go later on. Is it possible to do the hog rings with just normal pliers? Jamie
  23. After this i turned the seat around and pulled the vinyl down and around the seat frame edge and installed as many clips as i could. Again this was done with someone pulling the covers to keep them taught. As mentioned previously the covers do not seem as padded as the orignals but certainly look better then before.
