Just brought a cv conversion from rimmer bros. Cost 408 +vat in Jan sale. They tell me they have not got them from Canley classics for over a year and they are not jigsaw ones. They assured me they had sold 50x with no complaints. Busy with rebuilt engine at the moment so won't be fitted for a while but they look good.I have got bored with poor quality rotaflexes now...

I think the cutouts are so air can be drawn/let back in the diaphragm chamber and allow the piston to move up down relative to inlet pressure and the piston spring . I could well be wrong though as i have not looked at any for ages. Look at the carbs and you should be able to tell if you want the cut outs or not.

Thanks for the info about land rover part do you mean the one with part no 550732G. Will the change in bore size move the bitting point up or down as my bite point is low anyway. Only did a partial rebuild of system and slave was about 2 years old. Slave still ok but from Bills comments which seem to mirror what has happened I should now change master and slave. Is there an equivalent OEM part the land rover ones look like they might fit but i dont know bore size etc to check.

Rebuilt the clutch master cylinder a couple of years ago. Piston and bore looked good and it has worked fine untill today. The fluid has gone darker is leaking a little and sometimes you need to pump the pedal to engage gears. I am happy to rebuild or replace but am getting tired of replacing sub standard parts on a frequent basis. Is there anywhere where you can get good quality seal kits or master cylinder ideally Girling OEM or equivilant. Cost not really important just want it to last 10 years not 2! Thanks

Cabot tyres in Bristol did mine they can also balance them. Happy with service and they were familiar with wire wheels

There are dedicated overdrive spares places in Rugby and sheffield. Look them up as probably where the triumph suppliers get there bits from

Just had simular to this happening on my 2nd hand D Type after new cone clutch was fitted. I have cured it by adjusting the operating solinoid in a different way to stated in the book. My lever lined up ok so a drill could be passed through however this meant the solinoid was pulling the operating valve to far. I found a article that said just feel the spring tension on the operating valve lever and set the solinoid for lever adjustment of 1.5 -2mm from that point. Mine was over 3mm and reducing it to around 1.7mm cured my sticking overdrive. Other thing to check would be operating valve is clean as the pressure needs to bleed back down through it. otherwise maybe the release springs have lost tension but that requires a strip down. Good luck

there are 2 differing lengths of pump on 6 cylinder engines. I fitted a Gt6 one to mine last year and it reminded me I still have a vitesse engine fitted! It fitted ok but made the belt run at an angle and sqeak a little. 90% sure the gt6 pump was the longer of the 2 but can check if needed. Both the pumps brought have surface rust now at 1 year old but do work ok county made brought from Moss locally for around 40. Would be nice to get a sensibly priced upgrade but I have not seen any

Got round to cutting and fitting valance. Went much better this time but still took a few hours trying to align it correctly with the bonnet. Nice to see it with a valance fitted for the first time in at least 15 years!

I have used a stirrup pump from a friends air gun when 150 psi wasnt enough from the compressor. It was able to go to around 800 psi and the second piston came out with a pop at around 350 psi. Worked well and I would do this again if needed
