I used to do mine with a soft wire brush then go over them with a tube of whitening ,the stuff you use to whiten tennis shoes,it comes in a tube with a sponge on the end and dries out waterproof so don't run . ;)

hi mate.id try looking at your earth.try jumping it wjth earth lead on exhaust manifold and live on battery and see if it turns over any quicker before buying a new starter,if it does then check your body to engine earth lead and connections.

whatever you use make sure your block is spotless and grease free, dont pile it on to thick or it will run or pool if you warm the paint a little before use it will flow better and dry quicker.you could always help it dry a bit with an hairdrier waving over it.if you done it last month in the heat it would have cured in half a day but because of the ambeiant temperature now might take 2 days to really go off..paint a bit on a piece of scrap and poke that to see if its dry so you don't leave fingerprints over your block.and yes as said earlier the paint does go a very long way. :)

you could try removing nipples ,fill master cylinder and let them gravity feed ,when you get clean fluid coming through refit nipples then bleed as normal. ;)

I would go for 28 front 30 rear. :) to hard and they bounce all over the place and the center of your tread will wear out quite quickly,to soft and the outer edges will go and it will be heavy on the steering

hi lads, decided to fit my new [to me] gearbox.it had been reconned a few years ago then left in storage till I bought it.thought I would replace seals as it had been standing also decided to do clutch assy. pulled box out no worries ,opened bag with new seals in guess what wrong size[oh bugger]then removed clutch from car opened new clutch guess what different clutch.mine should have a spring clutch not a diaphragm clutch but as it came from a proper classic dealer I thought it must fit .what a plonker, fitted it all in ,box up and in then realised clutch fork hit the back of the box before moving anything.so removed box ,clutch assy ,refitted old clutch all fine now but is there any way I can fit a diaphragm clutch, maybe different thrust bearing carrier/different clutch fork?need a quick reply if poss before I contact supplier.by the way its a 1600 vitesse.cheers tony. :(
